Are you a God Chaser?

"My soul followeth hard after thee:" Psalm 63:8a

Are you a God chaser ?

Is God chasing after you?

Is your soul in pursuit of God?

Are you willing to die in the process?

Are you comfortable and complacent and just want to stay the same way?

Do you just want to be with Him?

Do you have a want and hunger for God, that you just throw yourself into seeking Him more?

Do you have a "cry" within in you for more of God?

A God chaser is one who has a passion is for God's presence, thinking that He too might catch him. It is like a child who is being chased by their father and eventually caught in the arms of the father. Being wrapped up by the chaser, where the one who is being pursued becomes captive.

Paul was a God chaser he just wanted to follow hard after God.

"Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus" Philippians 3:12

"That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;" Philippians 3:10

Everything that Job went through he still chased after God's presence. "Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? Job 11:7

Oh that I knew where I might find Him! That I might come even to His seat! Job 23:3

Job, David and Paul were all chasing after God. They were after that real intimacy with God. We cannot be a people that just go to God with a gimme list without that commitment. What we need to be doing is seeking a real relationship with our heavenly Father. We have to make our commitment true to Him, not as forgotten or even dismiss it. When we do this our life will begin to deteriorate, and fall apart.

Have you tasted of His goodness?

Have you had a glimpse of Him?

We should not be satisfied with nothing less than the best He has to offer.

We should not give any less than our best to Him.

Do you love Him more than anything?

Will you give up anything, or go anywhere just cause you want more of him?

How much do you love Him?

Dark Passages

There are dark passages of transition that are inevitable in our life.

There are the death of friends, family members, the death of one's dreams, the death of friendships.

There is a loneliness in this small and dark place.

There is a sense of waiting, waiting foe the next season, waiting for the next moment.

It is almost like a caterpillar as he is safely wrapped in his cocoon, then the pupa slowly lets go, then the caterpillar gives way to a beautiful butterfly. She has emerged into something that she would not have thought she could have ever seen in her former self.

So it is with us as believers.

We are in our dark passage temporarily, waiting for the next phase of our journey.

This our time of transition, a time of change, a time of metamorphosis.

Christ has said that if we are to find our life, we must lose it.

"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." Matthew 16:25

We all have become new creatures in Him.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

We are like the caterpillar, it had to die to be transformed, to become new. Just like a seed has to die to become a sapling.

It is ok to feel striped, bare, and exposed in our dark experience.

We must sit still and wait and listen, so to do as divinely ordered by a God who only wants to see us grow. We must not rush the process, cause if we do we might miss out on the necessary struggles that will help us grow closer to our Lord and Savior.

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;" 2 Corinthians 4:17

God sees you as perfect!

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." Genesis 1:27

So if God created us in His image we are perfect, as we are like Him.

When God looks upon us He doesn't look at our past, He looks at we are in Him.

He sees perfection as He is.

"I in them, and thou in Me, they that may be made perfect in one; that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved Me." John 17:24

God does not look at how we look, where we work, or even how much money we have, He looks at our heart.

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:21

He wants our whole heart, the inside. God wants everything.

What do you hide from Him?

We are nothing alone.

We can not do it by ourselves.

Let Him take care of those past hurts: maybe emotional, or physical, and even financial.

Ask Him to take your hand and then let Him use it as He sees fit for you.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

Are you in between moments?

Are you in between one problem or another, or between life's little adventures?

Life is just that, it is full of in betweens, life and death, between rich and poor, between good and evil, between doubt and faith, between here and there, and so many more in betweens, or seasons that we go through.

If we are a people of faith, then there are a series of life's little in betweens, and God gives us the opportunity to be a part of these. We as Christians go through stages in our faith, form justification, through sanctification, onto glorification, from redemption to completion.

We are in that moment, we are in between in everything that we do in our daily life. If we just sit back and take the time to think about, and enjoy the moment, in that moment there are life lessons for us to learn from, to help us grow.

There are so many different messages in our everyday moments, we just need to stop, take a deep breath, and sit back and see what is in that moment. Is it guidance, peace, comfort, growth, promise, wisdom, prosperity, or maybe even rest.

Whatever the moment maybe it is a tool of learning to help you in your walk. We need to learn to surrender of ourselves to the Holy Spirit who will show us all things in truth and righteousness.

"Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and will shew you things to come." John 16:7, 13

Let our teacher the Holy Spirit walk with you through life's daily little struggles.

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." Psalm 32:8

Don't miss out on that intimate relationship, that we each can have on a daily basis, and will only leave us for the longing of more with Him.

There are needs that need to be met, but in that defining moment there is God, ready and willing, all we have to do is ask, and in that moment He is there.

"And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:23, 24

Do you bless Him?

"I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall be continually be in my mouth." Psalm 34:1

Choose to bless His wonderful name.

No matter what we go through God will always be with us.

There is nothing better than getting in His presence, no matter what you had to do before you get there. We have to learn to praise and lift Him up no matter what the circumstance may be.

Refuse to settle for anything less than God's best for your life.

We need to come to that point that we can do nothing without Him.

We need to be full of Jesus!

We need to dwell in Him, and He will dwell in us.

God will use us as we put Him first in everything, our thoughts, in our finances, in our work. No matter what task is at hand let's start to put God first.

A little dab of God is not going to do it, it will not be enough.

We have got to learn to put Him first. When we do put Him first, everything else will work out.

"But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you. Take no thought for tomorrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:33-34

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

Are you confident?

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6

When we are confident, and living by grace, it is trusting in God, not our own ability!

There is nothing more that we can give God than that of ourselves. We were created to praise Him, to lift Him up. When we learn to put God first we shall learn not to care about what others think, but only what God thinks. We need to "stir up the gift of God which is in thee" (2Timothy 1:6). We already have won the victory, cause He paid the price for us. We have to trust that He knows best for our life, even if it means taking everything away so that we shall be totally dependent upon Him.

He wants us to be sold out only to Him.

Do not let the things of this world over take you

Rest in Him! Rest in His loving, strong arms.

You, O Lord, are our testimony - What a testimony that is!

We need to press on and in Him.

He will give us our breakthrough, maybe not as we think it ought to be or exactly as we want it, but how He thinks is best for us.

Always remember that God will never allow more than we can bear. He always provides a way out of our circumstance.

Don't take everyday things for granted, one knows not when the privledge they have until it is lost.

Let everything you do everyday be counted as joy!

Are you striving for perfection?

"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." I John 4:17

He loves us perfectly.

His love will quiet your fears and give you confidence.

We as Christians need to strive to be more and more Christ like. This process will not be complete until we are face to face with our king.

No one can be as perfect as God.

The word perfect implies completion or maturity, more than just being sinless.

God wants to make us perfect in Him, a oneness with Himself.

There is a big difference between His perfection and the idea of perfection in our society today.

We as Christians are to live in perfect relationship with our heavenly Father.

In today's society there is this idea that we do not need God, that He is unnecessary. This is totally wrong, we are not supposed to be after self adoration, admiration, but to have that longing relationship that personal relationship with Him. We should not let our thoughts hinder us from getting closer, from letting Him use us. Our goal is to know Christ, to be like Christ, and to be all that Christ has for us. This should absorb all our time and energy trying to lay aside anything that would distract us from getting to our goal: Jesus Christ.

"Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also, I am apprehended of Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:12

"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:14

We all have done things for which we are ashamed. With God we can look past the guilt and look forward to what we shall become in Him. We need not dwell on the past, but dwell on God, grow in His knowledge. Concentrate on your relationship with God now. We are to be fully confident of our salvation. We need to avoid pride and complacency as it will hinder our growth in Him.

All that we do ought to be founded on being perfect in Him, being one in him. We can not be self willed, it has to be the will of the Father.

Are you in control or is God?

"That they may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." John 17:21

We do not have to strive to be perfect, as we are already perfect if we are in Him.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoughly furnished unto all good works." II Timothy 3:16-17

Who is like Him?

"Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods, who is like Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?" Exodus 15:11

Anyone that call themselves a saint of God should trust Him!

He is worthy of implicit confidence. Nothing is too hard for Him!

Only if God was limited to His strength we might despair, but He is not. He is clothed with omnipotence!

There is no prayer to hard for Him to answer, no need to great for Him to supply, no passion to strong for Him to subdue!

There is no temptation too powerful for Him to deliver you from!

There is no misery that is too deep for Him to relieve you from!

"The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid of ?" Psalm 27:1

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." Ephesians 3:20

Saturday, April 22, 2006

God knows all!

"He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth in him." Daniel 2:22

God is omniscient. He knows everything: everything of the past present and future.

"Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite." Psalm 147:5

God knows every little detail in the life of each of us, nothing escapes without His notice of it. His knowledge is perfect, it never errs, never changes, and He never overlooks anything.

The infinite knowledge of God should fill us with amazement. He is wiser than the wisest man. No man knows what the future holds, only God can gaze into our future.

"The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding evil and the good." Proverbs 15:3

We should have an adoration of God's infinite knowledge. Our whole life stands before Him as an open book to view from beginning to end. He foresaw our every fall, our every sin, every time we have backslidden, but His heart is still fixed upon us.

Today we need more than just the knowledge of God. We need to truly know Him. As we submit ourselves to Him, to His authority, and let regulate all the details of our daily lives by His precepts and His commandments, we shall only learn but to know Him.

"If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be in God, or whether I speak of myself." John 7:17

Is you heart wounded?

Are you afraid that you have done something so bad that you can not be forgiven from?

Have you changed your lifestyle due to a major event in your life?

Do you think that forgiveness is for other people and not you?

Do you feel as if you don't deserve to be forgiven?

Do you feel guilty for what you have done wrong?

What if I told you that there is forgiveness for those who ask.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

No one deserves forgiveness. If we deserved forgiveness then it would not be called forgiveness. No matter what you have done, you can rest assured that you can be forgiven. There is nothing that can disqualify you from being forgiven, except the "unpardonable sin" Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. If you have to ask yourself whether or not you have, the answer is no you have not, this is one of those that you would know if you had.

You must first recognize that you are in sin before you can be forgiven.

There is no sin that is too bad that God can not deal with. You can find many people in the bible that done all sorts of bad things, whom God loved and was forgiven by Him. Here are just a few...

David- a man after God's own heart, killed a man in order to have his wife. He wrote that God "hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities...As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:10,12 This means that he has forgotten them and remembers them no more, when we ask forgiveness. This does not mean ask for forgiveness and then go right back and do it again on purpose.

Paul- mighty servant of God- hunted down Christians and dragged them in for trial and execution. After his meeting and conversion with God wrote, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." I Timothy 1:15

God can change you if you only ask Him to come and dwell in you. Don't be like the Saducees of Jesus day and reject Him, thinking that you are too good for forgiveness.

Your sin is not bigger than God's faithfulness!

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believed." Mark 9:23

In order for our sins to be forgiven we must first ask, then turn away from what we know is wrong.

Do you have peace?

Are you at peace with God?

Are you enjoying eternal life with Him?

Does your sin separate you from God?

God has provided the only way for us to be at peace with Him!

God loves you and wants you to enjoy living in peace with Him!

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

God gave us a will, a freedom of choice to choose life or death.

When we choose to do our own selfish thing, our own way of doing things and not yielding to God we are in sin.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

One's sins is what separates you from God! Sin is anything that you know you are doing wrong and continue to do it anyway.

"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that he will not hear." Isaiah 59:2

Jesus Christ is the only answer to the problem of separation that is keeping you from hearing from God.

God provided the only way through His precious Son, Jesus Christ.

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from life to death." John 5:24

"Jesus said, Do not let you hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me." John 14:1

What a simple relationship, all we have to do is to believe that He is, and trust in Him alone to save us.

With our mouth confession is made to salvation, just ask for forgiveness.

The next step is that of turning away from your sins.
You must beliveve that Jesus died on the cross and rose again from the grave.
If you believe all the above invite Jesus into your heart, and with the Helper, the Holy Spirit the will lead you into all truth and righteousness.

When you receive Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit will indwell in you the believer.

Welcome to the family!

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

He did not say shall, or might but will be saved!

A Daily Decision

We must make a daily choice to serve our Heavenly Father. If you are saved you are born again through the Holy Spirit. We became one with His Spirit once we have accepted Him. How?

You believed in your heart, confessed with your mouth, and you were saved. You then became a member of the Body of the Lord through the Holy Spirit. This means that you were immersed into the Body of Jesus by the Holy Spirit.

We must not stop there, but we must grow and keep growing. We must take the initiative to get in His word, get in His presence, start obeying the laws of the land, yielding ourself to Him completely.

We must realize that we are to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. He will lead and guide us into godliness, and will five us the understanding and the experiences. He is our teacher - the Holy Spirit.

God will not take over your will. It has to be your choice to serve Him, to do what is right.

We can have head knowledge, but what good is it if we don't have the power of the Holy Spirit.

"Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of truth." II Timothy 3:7

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." II Timothy 3:5

Are you just quoting scripture or are you putting it to work for you?

The knowledge of truth is not just collecting facts like an encyclopedia, but it is an experience.

The knowledge of the revelation will produce Jesus in you, Paul states it best as he writes, "Christ in you the hope of glory." Colossians 1:27

Once you come to the knowledge of truth, it will bring with it power. With revelation come performance, then you will not be denying that power, but it will manifest itself through understanding, and through your experiences.

We must make that decision to take this natural human/ flesh out of control and let it be washed daily by His word.

We need to let the Holy Spirit in the driver's seat, the forefront of our life.

As we put Him first, He will grow in us and He will use us. We must let His light shine through us.

Our will needs to be lined up with His will for our life.

You have to put your faith to it, and do it! Let your faith work for you!

If you want to grow you have to make that daily decision, the determination to yield to the Holy Spirit.

So what decision have you made today?

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve:" Joshua 24:15a

We are all called

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15

We all may not be preachers, but we do have a ministry. Being in the ministry does not just include the five-fold ministry. The word ministry means or shareth means service which comes from the word sharath. This means to contribute, to do, to serve, or to wait on in the Hebrew.

The Greek word for ministry is diakonia, it means to aid, teacher, to give relief, to give service, to be as a servant.

A ministry is an act of service, just because you may not have the title apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher does not mean that you can not have a ministry. If you believe then you have been called into the ministry. One does not need to stand behind a pulpit to be a minister. The world is full of hurting people that need that love of Jesus. You may have a ministry in giving of your time, of yourself to help others. You may have the ministry of listening. You may have the gift to serve others, or even bearing someone burdens in prayer. There are some many different ministries, all one has to do is let that light shine through you.

Whether or not your a pastor or a believer, God is still the same. When we let Him live through us we are fulfilling that calling of minister.

There are many different services that we can minister to believers and unbelievers alike that is....Jesus! There is one Lord. The same God that called Jesus has called each of us.

The same Jesus lives in us. To be a effective minister or have an effective ministry we must let Him minister in and through us.

"For me to live is Christ:" Philippians 1:21

Our life in Christ is that to ministry. As long as you believe you have a ministry.

How do you worship?

How do you worship God?

Are you there as an observer, or do you get past all those barriers and worship Him?

The word for worship in the Hebrew is shachah. It is translated , to bow down, to do reverence, to prostrate, beseech humbly. One cannot understand worship if they don't relate it to the whole body. There are instances that we stretch out our hands towards God, and sometimes it is a bending of the knee, or even falling on our face as in Leviticus 9:24.

"Which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces." (Leviticus 9:24b)

This is a Godly reverence. There is something about bowing down before the Lord.

The Greek word for worship is proskuneo. This word is used more than fifty times in the New Testament. It is a combination of two words that make up one: pros means towards, and kuneo means to kiss. The best example of this is Mary as she washed the feet of Jesus with the precious ointment oil, and tears then kissed His feet.

Man was made to worship. It is not a choice that we have, it is a choice of whom we shall worship. Even the devil failed to succeed in temtping Jesus in the wilderness.

"All these kingdoms of the world will I give you if you bow down and worship me, Jesus responded to him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve." (Matthew 4:10)

What ever we worship will ultimately serving. It proves the old saying: the more we worship someone or something, the more our commitment towards that thing increases, the more we shall become like that thing we worship.

We were made to worship by nature, our choice is will it be God or something else?

Worship is not just worship, but breaking through those barriers, those strong holds that are holding us back. Worship is just yielding to God! Why would you not?

Worship is a life of transforming power, a life of delighting in Him!

We have to let go of the natural thinking and give God all the glory that He deserves. It is seeking for God, and listening for His heartbeat. Waiting for God to breath on you! We are expressing our dependency upon Him as we worship Him.

God's heavenly choir and angels bow down to worship Him.

"The living creatures gave glory and honor and thanks to Him that sat upon the throne, who liveth forever and ever. The four and twenty elders fall down before Him that sat upon the throne, and worship Him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne saying, Thou art worthy O lord to recieve glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things for thy pleasure they are and were created." (Revelation 4:9-11)

We need to get a desire for more of God, a hunger for His presence. We need to be in that place of praise and worship that welcomes His Holy Spirit. It is not just the worship that comes out of our mouths, but the actions of our life that also worship and give Him the glory.

"But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship him in spirit and truth." (John 4:23-24)

Is Jesus at home in your heart?

"That Christ may dwell in your heart by faith." (Ephesians 3:17)

Is your heart full of unbelief?

Do you have an appetite for the word?

Does Christ have a reason not to feel at home in your heart?

Christ will not feel at home if you do not believe. Do you tell rumors or lies? If you are born again you will have those Godly desires. Those desires that are full of faith, those that stir up and not opress desires. When your desires are suppressed then they are no longer alive, and therefore you will not be able to see what the Holy Ghost has put inside of you.

Christ wants us to be doers of the word. Jesus said, "If you do My commandments, then I will love you. My Father will love you, and We will come and make another abode with you."(John 14:23). We know that Jesus lives inside of us if we are Christians. By being doers of the word we are building up our Spirit man. This builds up our faith, and our sensitivity to the Spirit of God.

We have to learn to be sensitive to the Spirit! God has granted us the ability to be able to sense the natural world. People will think that you are weird for being sensitive to God's Spirit. If you were to really think about it, His Spirit has been around before we were even born. You will know when something is wrong or when something is right when you are sensitive to the Spirit. You will know when God is doing something if you are sensitive. God wants each of use to use our gift that we each possess. He wants His power to be expressed though us.

Are you in Unity with your brother?

We have been called to an ultimate goal, that Christians everywhere become "One," that we as God's family learn to love one another.

Many people have a distaste for people who are different from us. This distaste comes from how we were brought up, what we were taught as children, what was put in our minds, our thinking from hearing what others had to say.

We need God to change our thinking, the way that we see other people. When we get into God's presence He will free us from those thoughts by His anointing. He will set us back upon the right course. There are things in everyone's life that we do not realize have affected us.

King Solomon talks about this....

"Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether." (Song of Songs 2:17)

"Until the day break, the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and the hill of frankincense."(Song of Songs 4:6)

We have unknowingly and subconsciously adopted the attitudes and prejudices of the people around us. We may not have dwelt on the matter for long, but that shadow has darkened our soul. God wants to free us from those shadows.

We must lay aside our differences and come to the foot of the cross. It is that willingness to forgive as Christ forgives and to forget as Christ forgets.

Are hearts are always being examined to see where we stand in regard to unity in His family.

He has commanded unity among us.

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1)

Unity among brothers and sisters is precious, valuable and worth striving for.

Why would you want to throw something away that you have worked so hard for all your life?

That's what you are doing over some petty argument, some disagreements, not getting along, just petty things...

Without unity we remain a crippled body.

God says that our relationships are the most important thing that we have here on this earth.

God is looking for a people who will commune with Him.

God is looking for a people who will not judge others as they might not pray, worship, or praise just like you.

God is working through people everywhere!

Won't you become "One," with your brothers?

Some thoughts for today....

Today is a new day!

How do you start each day?

When you get up, before your feet hit the floor do you thank Him for anther day?

Do you thank Him for that next breath?

How do you start your day?

How do you use your time during the day?

What you do today is important!

We are trading a day of our life for it.

There will never be another day exactly like today.

Do you Praise Him, or do you grumble and complain about what you don't have?

Do you covet (want) other peoples things?

Is He your provider?

Do you lean on man and his paycheck?

God will supply your every need if only you let Him!

Remember when tomorrow comes today will be gone!

Are you in His will and doing things His way?

Did you do want you wanted to do, or did you do as God wanted you to?

Do you believe in His word?

Do you have communion with God?

Is your communion with God broken?

Do you give Him honor?

Our faith is not what we do for God, but is what we do with it with God!

Remember that there will never be another today!

Will you have done good and not evil?

Will you have success and not failure?

Where do you put your trust?

Is your faith in God almighty or in man?

Put your trust in the God that will NEVER Fail!

Do you have an intimacy with Him?

Do you have a passion for God?

Is your heart cry Lord, take every piece of my heart?

Are we so busy in our daily life that we don't even miss being alone with God?

Have we gotten to the place that we are not intimate with God because we do not want to be?

Maybe we have not gotten thirsty enough to desire Him and Him alone.

Our prayer needs to be: God create a longing within me for You! Make me thirsty for that living water which is in You!

We are not the only ones who desire an intimate relationship. As we read from Genesis to Revelation we will find out about God who loves His people and desire to have fellowship with them. Having a intimate relationship with God is high priority on His list, it should also be on our list of priorities. We have to commit ourselves to spend time in prayer, reading His word and just praising Him. There are a lot of biblical accounts of those who walked with God, who had that special close relationship with Him. My favorite was David, even in spite of his sins and problems, David longed for intimacy with God.

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus I will bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me." (Psalm 63:1-8)

When we get intimate with God, we are ultimately getting to know God. If we want a relationship with Jesus it requires fellowship with Him. We can not just be hearers of the word, but we must also be doers of the word. We need to practice what we have been taught. This will change your life around. We must go beyond the veil and stabilize our walk with God! This is where we will learn to listen, hear, wait and be still. We must give of ourselves before He can give to us.

Does your light shine for Jesus?

"Ye are the light of the earth; but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth goo for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men," (Matthew 5:13-16)

Do you have Joy?

Who would want to be unhappy all the time? God wants to fill you with His joy.

"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost." (Romans 15:13)

"And not only so, but we also joy in God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have received the atonement." (Romans 5:11)

God wants us to soak in His presence. When we live in God's presence there is only one goal, one desire. Peace, Joy and Love are all in His presence.

Joy is not the absence of pain, but it will cost you something. One will always receive more than what you are asked to give.

Our journey is a struggle, a struggle to better oneself, to change, to seek, to discover, to grow with courage, patience and to live truth! The soul hungers for this joy and is always seeking it.

The journey is the joy; the joy is the struggle that completes our journey.

Joy means happiness, gladness of heart. One will not be happier today than yesterday, until you do it with a different state of mind or heart.

Everything is connected to the spiritual. The Spirit is the joy.

We become what we love, so why would you not choose joy?

Why not be in His presence?

There should only be one goal for us as Christians that would be to live in His presence. When we live is His presence this represents everything good that we desire. Peace, Love, and Joy to those who live in His presence.

We were created for one sole purpose which is to praise Him and enjoy His presence! What a wonderful way to live, just by enjoying His presence.

This is God's ultimate plan. We must come to the point and let our flesh die so that God can do His work in our life.

It is not just about wanting Him, but having that intimacy, that only He can fill.

More of Him: Less of me!

This should be our hearts cry!

Are you safe in God?

The safest place that you can be is wrapped up in the Savior's loving arms. As I was studying today this was heavy on my heart so I shall pass along to you.....

Those who go to God Most High for safety will be protected by the Almighty.

I will say to the Lord "You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust You."

God will save you from hidden traps and from deadly diseases.

He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you can hide.

His truth will be your shield and protection.

You will not fear any danger by night or an arrow during the day.

You will not be afraid of diseases that come in the dark or sickness that strikes at noon.

At your side one thousand people may die, or even ten thousand right beside you, but you will not be hurt.

You will only watch and see the wicked punished.

The Lord is your protection; you have made God Most High your place of safety.

Nothing bad will happen to you; no disaster will come to your home.

He has put His angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go.

The (angels) will catch you in their hands so that you will not hit your foot on a rock.

You will walk with lions and cobras; you will step on strong lions and snakes.

The Lord says, "Whoever loves Me, I will save. I will protect those who know Me.

They will call to me, and I will answer them. I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.

I will give them a long, full life, and they will see how I can save."

Are you a true friend?

What kind of friend are you? Are you a true friend? How do you act around others, is it the same with everyone that you meet? Do you treat all your friends the same? Are some of your friends treated like some that you just met?

There is a vast difference between knowing someone and being a true friend. The greatest evidence of a true genuine friendship is loyalty. True friends help in times of distress or personal struggles, not dragging in their own to help bring you down. There are to many so called fair weather friends, who only stick around when the friendship only helps them out and leave when they are not getting anything out of the relationship.

I know a friend that sticks closer than a brother. His name is Jesus!

"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." (Proverbs 18:24)

A true friends colors will soon shine through in the difficult circumstances. We should only have one or two close intimate friends that you can share your private thoughts to, and not to a bunch of superficial acquaintances. When we maintain a surface relationship with lots of people we will run into the lack of good advice when it really counts. I'm not saying that you can't have friends, but you need to only have a few that you tell everything to cause if you tell everyone everything you are setting yourself up for a fall.

True friends will wound us. They are willing to tell us the hard truth, even when it hurts. We can trust their honest feedback. We need to watch out for those who do not have the courage to confront you when you need it.

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. - Walter Winchell

Here are some thoughts for you to ponder on:

Are you a friend that lifts others up out of the molly grubs?

Are you a friend that gives comfort in time of need- a shoulder to cry on?

Are you a friend that provides wisdom through his/her answers?

Are you a friend that listens and helps build others up?

Are you an encourager to your friends?

Are you a friend that prays with others?

Are you a friend that will pray for others?

Are you a friend that will stay through good times as well as bad?

Are you a friend that will leave your friend during the rough times or disappear only to come back after things are going good again?

Remember that a true friendship is a God given friendship!

He has created us with a desire for friends, for giving and recieving His love to and through others. He will bring us together with His family in such a way that it provides God breathed, God ordained, close knit God relationships. He tells us what kind of friend we should be to others as well as what kinds of friends to avoid, and how to be a better person, a better friend. Open up and take a look in the best book of all.....the Bible.

Praise the Lord Anyhow!

"His praise shall continually be in my mouth." (Psalm 34:1)

I have run across this and wanted to pass it on....and have added my own comments as well. -Author unknown

Do you have that joy of the Lord deep within your soul? If you do Praise the Lord! Do you feel empty inside, or even depressed? Come on and Go ahead and Praise the Lord anyhow! It is a sacrifice of praise continually to God that we are commanded to offer. (Hebrews 13:15) The sacrifice of praise is to Praise the Lord anyhow, especially when we do not feel like it!

Are all your children saved? Praise the Lord! Do you have some that haven't come out of sin?Are you saved? Praise the Lord! God promises by believing, ALL your household will be saved. (Acts 16:31) Praising the Lord for their salvation, in advance of seeing them in the fold, is evidence that you truly believe!

Are all your bills paid up-to-date? Praise the Lord! Do you have financial problems? Praise the Lord anyhow! Praise will activate God's promise of plenty, and to supply our every need. "My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory." (Philippians 4;19)

Do you have good health? Praise the Lord! Do you have health problems? Praise the Lord anyhow! One's healing is activated by faith. praise is a language of faith. "As thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee." (Matthew 8:13)

Do you like the weather? Praise the Lord! Do you ever check out the sunrise or sunset? Do you ever wonder who painted the sky? How can anybody look up the the sky and not wonder?Do you ever wonder? "This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

Do you have true friends? Do they encourage you during times of trials and testing? We need to start thanking God in every situation good and bad. Praise the Lord! Do you have problems with name calling, or do people belittle you, or disappoint you? Praise the Lord anyhow!

Praise the Lord anyhow! Why? "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) Don't miss God's plan for you by just praising Him for the "blessings." " In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (I Thessalonians 5:18)

A friend named Jesus

Do you feel as if you have no one to talk to? Do you feel as if you are all alone? Do you need someone whom you can tell all your secrets to and it will never be told again? Are your friends always too busy or they never return your phone calls? Do you spend a lot of time alone? Do you know that there is a special friend for you?

Good news! There is a friend that you can talk to anytime and tell anything to. He will listen to every thought and problem that you have. This friend is always with us even though we do not even pay attention to Him sometimes. This friend will carry you through whatever you are going through.

His name is JESUS. He is God's Son and loves you very much!

"God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His son Jesus Christ our Lord." (I Corinthians 1:9)

"I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find Me." (Proverbs 8:17)

Come and spend time with Me! I am always there when you need Me. I am waiting for you my friend. Come tell me your problems, and let Me help you find the solutions. I Love You!

Come and let Me be your companion. Let Me help you through the good times as well as the bad times. Through happy times and sad times there I will stand at your side. I will walk beside you and will always be there to listen to you whether it be good or bad. I am there when you need someone to talk to. I will be there happily and with a smile. I will be there through the pain and the tears, I will stay with you through out all your years. I will stay because I Love You!

Will you come and be My friend?

Who do you serve?

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the amorities, in whose land ye dwell: but for me and my house. We will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)

We have to decide whom we are going to serve. Do we obey God, or do we look to those idols that we have set before God? Anything that takes time away from God is as an idol. Watching too much TV, spending extra time perfecting your yard, anything that is set higher than God. If you can do what you love, but you don't have time for God, maybe you need to check out how much you truly want Him in your life. Maybe even to see if you truly are saved. It's easy to slip into a quite rebellion; going about your life in your own way not even thinking about what God has for you. There will be a time when you will have to choose who or what will control you. The choice is yours will it be God?

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matthew 6:24)

We cannot serve our heavenly master and the materialistic master at the same time. Our first loyalty should be to those heavenly values. What we collect here on earth cannot go to heaven with us if we are saved. If we are truly saved then this world's possessions are not going to get attached. I'm not saying that we can't have nice things, but we are not to covet anything for ourselves. This is the tenth commandment. Our desire for God should far out weigh anything that is materialistic. Whatever that you store up, you will spend most of your time thinking about. Why not put all that energy in a God that will never fail, will provide every need for you? Here is a simple thought. Ask yourself what occupies your thoughts, your time and your

Are you obedient?

"Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other Gods, which ye have not known." (Deutronomy 11:26-28)

Obedience is to obey, to follow commands of others, to be in submission to those in authority. Obedience is to follow directions as we are told, without reservation, without question. We are to work with others and our employers as if we were doing it unto God. We need to be obedient in all areas of our life. One can not pick and choose which to obey. We are to line up with the Word of God.

"Servants, obey in all things masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ." (Colossians 3:22-24)

We as believers need to walk step in step with God, not just making it another part of our day. Our whole heart must be to God and Him be our focus. We should not focus on our daily distractions, we need to strive to be consistent with our obedience to His will.

Saul, was always caring about what others think, and not about his personal relationship with his Lord. Our relationship is more than just going through the motions, more than just showing up at church, more than just helping out once in a while. Everything that we do must be done with an attitude of Love and Obedience. We have got to start acting responsibly with what God has given us. There will come a day when we will stand before Him and be accountable for all our actions. God does not judge the outside qualities or actions, but it is the inner qualities that count. God is not pleased with the sacrifices that have been substituted for obedience.
