What are your true intentions?

"Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have your reward of your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 6:1

Do you know that we are supposed to be right standing before God in everything that we do?

How do you do things to be seen of men?

Do you do things to give God glory?

Do you always have to be praised for doing something?

Do you always feel as if you have to be noticed?

There is nothing wrong with that once in a while, to be encouraged or even encourage others.

When we do good things if our heart is not right then we are doing them for the wrong reasons, and God said, that we have our just reward.

Are you self serving?

Are you serving your own ego and looking for that human affirmation?

Are you a hypocrite?

A hypocrite is a person whose life contradicts what they say they believe.

In reality they are not serving God as they say, but they want to be recognized.

When we do not keep our eyes and heart on God we forfeit our eternal reward

We need not draw attention to ourselves, but to Our God.

Good works are not only a way for us to help the poor, needy, or even just to help out our neighbor; but to show the world that God is worthy of our surrender to Him.

It is when our heart is right, along with right motives that when we serve Him, we bring Him glory!

When we turn and let our pride in for our glory, in essence we are stealing God's glory!

We have place all the attention on us, when all of the attention should have been on God!

We should not compete for glory for our names sake; it all belongs to God!

"I am the Lord: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to one another, neither My praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8

I will say it again, it is ok to get that pat on the back when it is deserved, but don't be out to just get that praise for the wrong reasons.

What are your true intentions?

What is the motive behind what you do?

Does all the praise and honor go to God for what you done or does it go for self gratification?

Are you sending God the message that you love Him enough by doing good deeds with a right heart?

Are you sending Him the message that I am going to give away my eternal right and be happy living here on earth with self gratification, or hyped up ego.

It is not just about doing good to be noticed.

We are to be good even when no one is watching.

God is always watching us - be careful what you say and do!

"And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not; ye have done all this in wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart;" I Samuel 12:20

God will provide!

"And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for burnt offering." Genesis 22:8

Do you ever feel as if you think that you are not going to make it?

Maybe not enough funds for school clothes?

What about rent?

Money for groceries?

Do you need some other needs met?

Abraham was given a test.

God wanted to know how much Abraham loved God.

Abraham was asked to give his dearest possession, his beloved child to God.

Abraham takes the boy up into a mountain and there prepares the altar.

Isaac sees the fire and altar and asks where the animal is that is to be killed.

Isaac yet knows not that he is to be the intended victim.

Abraham answers, "My son, God will provide himself a lamb."

I wonder what was going through Abraham's mind?

What do you think was going through Isaac mind?

Sometimes we must take what is very dear to us and lay it on the altar.

God will provide for us in all of our difficult times if we only trust in Him.

God must be more precious that that thing than we lay on the altar.

When we think that there is nothing else, no other possible way, that is when God shows up and has a substitute.

When we are faithful God will not leave us hanging.

Abraham's faith in God was such that if it meant requiring offering Isaac, then that was the best way possible.

Isaac was dear to Abraham, but God was much more dearer.

This showed Abraham's love for God.

God provides a ram.

The story has a happy ending.

God wants our dearest.

God wants our best.

God will test our faith and love to see if we are willing to give to Him our dearest and best.

Nothing we anyway is our it all comes from Him even our children!

Everything is His!

"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

The Word!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1

God created the world!

God orders it and rules it!

Whatever that God had in mind when He created the world He also had in mind creating in you and I.

His purpose for His creation is His purpose for you and I .

We must know what God is like.

We can find the answer that we see through out the Bible.

Jesus Christ, the Word, the self expression of God to man.

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, ( and we beheld His glory, the glory as the Only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

Jesus Christ is the answer that we seek!

Jesus Christ is God's self disclosure.

It is being exposed; revelation brought forth.

It is Jesus in God showing Himself in such a way that there is no doubt for error in our minds as to what God is like.

Jesus Christ was the living, breathing Word of God who walked in the flesh on this earth.

A word that is a true word will be revealed by him who speaks it.

In Jesus we do not see all that there is of God, but all that we see in Jesus is God!

It is enough that we should be content.

It is when we leave our life in His hands, the hands of God, that we can rest and need not lose any sleep over what the world can do to use.

"I will lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8

"For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8:6

God is mightier than death, and His name and nature is Love.

God is with you and He is your protector.

Our protector may not have "skin on" at the moment, but we know that He is always there with us!

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10

The Word became flesh and we seen what God was like in the flesh.

He seen what human life is like from the inside out or with skin on.

We need to learn to relax in the arms of our God.

We have our Protector with skin on, and we know that He has us.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1

In the Beginning....

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." Genesis 1:1-2

In the beginning God....

He moved upon the face of the waters.

It was dark.

It is a picture of just God.

God said, "Let there be" and there was something.

The Spirit of God was moving upon all creation, all beginning.

Even in the chaos God is there!

We need to put our attention on God -the Creator.

Our attention should not be on this world.

It is He who is the beginning in every beginning!

When we think of creation we ask what is the world like?

When we should be asking what is God like?

Is He good, bad, or indifferent?

How do we judge?

Do we dare judge God?

"Judge not, that ye be not judged." Matthew 7:1

"And the heavens shall declare His righteousness: for God is judge Himself. Selah" Psalm 50:6

We have no basis for judgment upon our world or our life.

He has a purpose for each of us!

He created each of us with a specific purpose in mind!

Even through the chaos of death, poverty, failure, injustice, cancer or whatever else comes your way, you can be sure that the Power and Mind and Purpose behind it all is good.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

The chaos that we may have in our lives is not always going to remain chaos.

There is One greater than the chaos in control!

He has plans of His own.

In Genesis we can see the existence, the reality, the controlling power of the Mighty One!

The One who is behind everything.

"And when Abram we ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be thou perfect." Genesis 17:1

God has a name!

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

I just can't sit around any more and not tell people that some of their thinking if off the wall!

God is not , an it, or she, or whatever you are comfortable with!

God has a name a name so sacred that in the beginning that they would only call Him the Name!

God is Almighty, King of Kings, Lord of Lords!
So why all the bad stuff?
Maybe it will all remain a mystery to us till the end.
Maybe we can't understand it all right now with our limited minds.
Maybe this is just as God had planned it!
You just have to put your trust in God as He knows what He is doing, and that nothing is a Surprise to Him!

His name is not whatever, universal energy, cosmic consciousness, gaia, allah, krishna, budda, lakshmi, kuan-yin, rama, kali, shiva or any other name.

God is the Creator and ruler of the universe!

Are you a thinker?

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8

Are you one of those individuals who thinks that God changes His mind?

Have you read a lot of books, but just not the Bible?

Do you think that the Old Testament is not for today?

Do you read the Bible like piecemeal, and only select what you want?

Do you take the Bible as a whole?

We as Christians are to take every part as a whole, to witness everything that it contains, not just bits and pieces.

There is not a scripture that does not either proclaim Christ or points to Him!

Take the book of Ecclesiastes points out Christ by bringing up the deadly void, and emptiness that Christ comes to fill.

This is just one, but there are hundreds of them.

The old testament is known as the book of man, B.C., before Christ came into man's life.

When Christ come into our lives it brings meaning and value, and truth to everything.

"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." Romans 15:4

When we have knowledge of the scriptures it can affect our attitude toward the present and the future.

The more that we know what God has done in the past, the more confidence that we have in what He can and will do in the future.

Most of us will not have hope in God until we have been brought to despair; despair in man, despair in ourselves.

In the Old Testament man is trying to find his way back to the Father.

This is the covenant of between God and man.

In the New Testament God came down to be a man, and to reclaim Him.

This is the covenant of God the Father and His Son.

"The New Testament lies concealed in the Old, and the Old Testament lies revealed in the New." - St. Augustine

Christ is at work, hidden away in the Old.

Christ appears in the flesh in the New.

Can we just read the New Testament and leave out the Old?

No!

The Old testament is not just written for a period of time, B. C.

We are still in that time, because it is not of a time that has happily ended, but made in the image of Christ.

The Old Testament is the book of man, before he was completely made over in Christ's image.

This book is made for you and me until we are made in His image, that the only thing that the world sees is Jesus.

Adam in the act of asserting his superiority over others.

Cain in his refusal of responsibility for his brother.

David in his lusting.

Saul in his jealousy.

Job in his complaining.

Jacob in his scheming.

Jonah in his self righteousness.

Rehab in her religion without morality.

Ruth in her morality without religion.

These are just a few, here in the ancient pages.

We all can see ourselves in the Old Testament.

We can see God leading us toward Christ.

In the New Testament Christ has come in and is taking a hold of us and beginning His new creation, His new work in us.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17

The New Testament takes us in A.D., and is only the beginning.

It is still only beginning!

God is not dead, but very much alive!

"And this is the record, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." I John 5:11-13

"In me dwelleth no good thing"

"I Know that in me [that is, in my flesh] dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not....O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 7:18, 24-25a

Have you ever used the phrase the devil made me do it?

Do you ever think that you are ok?

Do you think that you have arrived?

Do you ever find yourself doing those things that you know that you are not supposed to do?

Each of us are just human and human nature is too sin.

Paul the Apostle had come to the point that he had found out that there was nothing good in him. (Read Romans 7:14-25)

He found out that he was not as good as he thought.

I'm glad that Paul found that out, even as a devout Christian, he knew that he was not perfect.

hallelujah, there is room for even us.

It is when our standards are so high and so hard that we cannot fully live up to our moral judgment, this will morally condemn us.

When we try to solve our own problems, we struggle in our own strength, slipping into the grasp of sin.

We can never measure up to the Law, what a good man must actually be.

"To will" to measure up to God's requirements "is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not" in my own natural self.

It is in our own natural self that "dwelleth no good thing."

We all struggle against sin, but with the Spirit's help we can overcome that sin.

We can not fight the battle of sin in our own flesh.

We must take hold of what power God has given to us.

The Holy Spirit that lives in us gives us that power to overcome.

When we fall, which we all do, as we are all human, He lovingly reaches out to help us up.

"For all have sinned, and come short the glory of God." Romans 3;23

"If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us." I John 1:10

We do not have to fight sin alone, we have Jesus Christ right there by our side fighting for us.

When we became a Christian we experience a new birth into a new life.

In our new life we find that goodness is not possible by achieving it, but just by simply receiving it from the Lord.

We need to take pleasure in God.

We need to delight ourselves in Him!

What we cannot do for ourselves, Christ does for us.

"O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 7:24

Christianity is not just being reformed, but it is a regeneration.

Paul said that it is not a religion of law but of grace.

If there is any goodness in us, we have not achieved anything, but it came from God, as HE has given it to us.

We receive goodness by simply living in dependence upon Him.

We can not take credit for His gift.

When we are pridefull, it comes from sin.

We are not as good as we think.

Why do we compare ourselves to our neighbor?

We unconsciously compare people that are morally inferior so that we shine as to say.

We think that we are better than we are.

This is the fastest way of self deception, self judgment.

Everything that we have comes from our Father above.

We have not cause we ask not.

We need to thank God for the freedom that we have in Him.

We need to let the Holy Spirit operate in us, and to help us through all of our struggles, not just those that we deem necessary.

"It is good to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to shewforth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night." Psalm 92:1-2

A free gift.

"A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. " Proverbs 17:8

Each gift that we have is as a precious stone.

Generally when you get a gift, you really really like then you take better care of it than one you didn't want so much.

Do ya know that God's love is free?

" I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely:" Hosea 14:4

"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." Romans 5:5

God chose to give us all things free in Him, just because it pleased Him to do so.

He had to send His Son first that we might freely receive His gifts.

Don't you like free gifts?

Would you be the one not to open up the free gift to not look inside?

Each of us have a gift that somewhere on it reads:

To: (enter your name here)
From: God

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God." I Corinthians 2:12

He first gave us His Son, now He wants us to take of the other precious gifts.

These gifts can only be opened through repentance and by faith.

We have the gift of the Holy Spirit which is activated in you.

"What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have from God, and ye are not your own?" I Corinthians 6:19

He indwells in every believer.

We as believers fail to recognize that He is there and fail to make full use of that which He has given us.

It is when we ask Him that He, the Holy Spirit will lead us into a better understanding of God's Word.

When we ask, the Holy Spirit will give us the assurance of God's care.

The Holy Spirit will transform us into the image of Christ.

With the Holy Spirit we have all the power that God has.

He has all power, for He is the Holy Spirit that is with us.

With the Holy Spirit we can talk to our Father in His heavenly language.

"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:4

We can not keep up the image of a victorious living - it is only through Him.

The Holy Spirit will comfort, strengthen and reassure us.

He is always available.

He never sleeps!

He never makes a mistake.

He loves you no matter what we have done.

He can help you change.

He can help you with relationships.

He can help us with our problems.

He can help us with our decisions.

He has the power to heal our painful hurts.

He has the power to sharpen our vision for what is best for our future.

He is with us always!

He is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent.

He is everywhere!

"Whither shall I go from thy Spiritit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell thou art there. [That does not mean that HE is in hell, just that HE can see our soul in hell.] If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me." Psalm 139:7-10

He is all knowing!

"But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in Him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." I Corinthians 2:10-11

He is all powerful!

"And the angel answered and said another, the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." Luke 1:35

He is Everlasting!

"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God." Hebrews 9:14

We need to have daily power, guidance, wisdom, and vision that come from the Holy Spirit.

Let Him love on you.

Let Him heal your negative memories, your insecurities.

Let Him remove your past failures.

Let Him control you.

Be filled with Me!

Get lost in Me!

When you are completely filled with Me, you will know Me even better.

Don't be afraid of losing Me, by being filled constantly with the Holy Spirit.

Let Him take you to an exciting experience of Himself through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let Him be the wind of your sails!

We were created to enjoy Him forever!

We were created to glorify Him.

"Even everyone that is called by my name: for I have created him for My glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him." Isaiah 43:7

Hell is Hot!

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Life is Short

Death is sure - Your day is coming
Judgment is coming
Eternity is too long - It's forever and forever
Hell is Hot
Forgiveness is available for everyone
Heaven is for you.
- Before I go any further I want to thank Aleeta Connelley and the Riverwalk Fellowship outreach team for this.

I have read several books lately that have basically all said the same thing which is....

You can go to heaven unless you are the worst most murderous, hideous evil monster that ever lived and these are the only reasons why one won't make it into heaven.

Boy - Have I got news for you!

God will not allow any sin in heaven.

All of us have some sort of sin in our lives.

Could be a little lie, could be that you thought you could do something and get away with it, could be even as small as not minding your parents, or those in authority.

There are lots of things that we mess up in daily, therefore we need to repent and ask God for His forgiveness.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

It is grace, that unmerited favor, by which we are saved.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Ya know there is not any coming back and getting a second chance, our chance is right now!

Here is a good reference to this. Luke 16:19-31

"There once was a rich man, expensively dressed in the latest fashions, wasting his days in conspicuous consumption. A poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, has been dumped at his doorstep.{This is not the same Lazarus that was raised from the dead} All he lived for was to get a meal from scraps off the rich man's table. His best friends were the dogs who came and licked the sores. Then he died, this poor man, and was taken up by the angels to the lap of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell and torment, he looked up and saw Abraham in the distance and Lazarus in his lap. He called out, Father Abraham, mercy! Have mercy! Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water to cool my tongue. {Now that's hot!} I'm in agony in this fire. But Abraham said, Child remember that in your lifetime you got the good things and Lazarus the bad things. It's not like that here. Here he's consoled and you are tormented. Besides, in all these matters there is a huge chasm set between us so that no one can go from us to you even if he wanted to, nor can anyone cross over from you to us.{There is a line that cannot be crossed from either way} The rich man said, Then let me ask you, Father; Send him to the house of my father where I have five brothers, so he can tell them the score and warn them so they won't end up here in this place of torment. Abraham answered, They have Moses and the Prophets to tell them the score, let them listen to them. I know, Father Abraham, he said, but they are not listening. If someone came back to them from the dead, they would change their ways. Abraham replied, If they won't listen to Moses and the Prophets, they're not going to be convinced by someone who rises from the dead." Message Version

We only have one shot at this thing!

Why send someone out of hell, when Jesus came and was buried, died and rose again, still people believe Him not.

The rich man was not punished for being rich, God wants us to be rich.

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as your soul prospereth." III John 2

The rich man went to hell because he was selfish, greedy, did not want to listen to the prophets of his time.

The rich man was hard hearted even though he had more than enough to share, he did not.

You may not be rich, but you still can give out of what you have.

It is when we are faithful in the small, God will reward us with much, as He can trust us.

What is your attitude toward money and possessions?

Hell is a very hot place.

A place where you will be tormented day and night, no rest for the wicked.

A place even hotter than the hottest day, and there will be no relief in sight.

You don't have to go there if you don't want - You do need to change your ways and ask Jesus into your heart.

Some of us need to get a hold of God, get it in our heart, our spirit.

Remember, the rich man had asked Abraham if he would send Lazarus back to tell them - He said no!

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Isn't it great to know that God will give us a second chance while here on earth.

"For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:17

There is that little voice inside of you called your conscience and it generally tells you if you are doing something wrong.

Won't you listen to it today, and get you life back on the right path.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

When we confess we are saying that we are sorry and we are asking for His forgiveness and want to do right.

If your heart is pounding, as you are reading this then God is talking to You!

You can ask Him to come into your heart right now and to help you with all that is wrong in your life.

Your must have a right heart with God.

Come let Him walk with you on your daily journey.

No one plans on going to hell, it just happens, we are blindsided by things and cares of this world that we forget to even give our maker a second thought.

How many times do you wake up and see the sunrise, the beauty that surrounds us everywhere?

What about each breath that we breathe?

All we have to to is just start thanking Him for His precious blood, that flowed down at Calvary.

Thank Him for His blood that washed our sins away and saves us from eternal damnation.

Thank Him for the hope that we have in Him, as there is no hope in this world, or what it has to offer you.

Ask Him to forgive you all of your sins, those that you have done knowingly and unknowingly.

Thank Him for that eternal light. Thank Him for the forgiveness that comes with the washing of His blood.

Thank Him for that wonderful feeling, that cleanness that we feel.

Ask Him to walk with you daily and help you with each situation as it arises.

Ask Him to take full reign over your life today, right now!

No one said that the journey would be easy - hold on for the ride of your life!

This will be the best journey you will ever have!

God is good, and His mercies are new each day.

Don't get fooled by what the world has to offer.

There is only one way to heaven, but many ways to Hell.

"And this is the record, that God hath given us to eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." I John 5:11-13

Do you have trouble holding on?

"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for my anger is turned away from him." Hosea 14:4

Sin is one of satan's most deceptive lies.

He has most of thinking that when we sin we are only hurting ourselves.

This if far from the truth.

You are not only hurting yourself but those around you.

Why would anyone ever chose to hurt themselves anyway?

Sin's root are like wild weeds.

They grow uncontrollably until not only you are engulfed, but also those others whom you are around.

Sin can and will choke the life out of you, including the believer.

Jonah the prophet of God rebelled against God. Read Jonah 1:1-17

What happened?

Jonah was called to go and preach to Nineveh. Jonah knew that he had a specific job to go do, but did not want to do it.

Jonah decided to run.

Isn't that the way with all of us when God calls us to go and do something?

We run in fear and stubbornness, saying that God is asking too much of us, or thinks that we can do something that we can't.

When we run we generally get into more trouble than we would have if we would have just stayed and faced the music {so to say}.

It is always best to do what we are asked the first time around.

Jonah's disobedience to God lead him to endanger those lives around him.

We have a great responsibility to those around us to obey God's Word because our sin and disobedience can hurt them.

Our obedience is not run by feelings, or reality.

We must do what God's Word says to do!

There is no way that you can ask, seek for more of God if you are running from Him.

Jonah thought that by running he could get away from God.

What's really great is that God is everywhere and that there is nowhere that He isn't!

We must stop going in the opposite direction of God, and start going in the right direction with Him.

So you say you want more of God's love and power?

Are you willing to do what God has asked you to do?

Are you willing to carry out those responsibilities that He gives to you?

If you truly believe than you will do as He says.

"And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith He abideth in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked." I John 2:3-6

God is so gracious that He will even use our mistakes to help save someone around us.

You never know who might be watching you.

One of the most painful things that anyone has even done is admitting to a sin, asking for forgiveness.

Your sin is not to great, your predicament never too difficult for God.

When the temptation of sin seems irresistible, then start calling out to God.

Cry out for His mercy, praise Him, for He forgives!

He promises to forgive you of your sin, for He loves you freely.

Your sins have been washed by the blood of Calvary, they are covered and forgotten.

Repentance will keep the way clear in our walk with God.

Have you strayed away?

Have you knowingly chose to disobey?

Are you ready to come back home?

God will take that all that you have done, and cover it in His blood and give you a new clean garment, so that you can walk along side of Him as a son or daughter of God.

Lord, Jesus take my heart and hand as I turn to you and make your will my only choice.

Do you love Him?

Tell Him - Right now!

Tell Him how much you love Him!

"Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.

Lord hear my voice; let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who will stand?

But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word do I hope.

My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning." Psalm 130:1-6

Friday, July 21, 2006

Hey, whoa, Stop!

"He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His trust shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee." Psalm 91:4-7

If you have not noticed lately the world is in such turmoil, fighting, rumors of wars, things that should not have been passed by congress getting passed, drugs on the rampage, teenage pregnancy on the rise and a whole lot more.

Environmental nightmare, global warming, natural disasters on the rise, crime, hate, economic strife, alcoholism, wars, starvation, aids, west nile virus, killer bees.

Pretty crazy place that we are living in today.

We are running on a treadmill that just keeps getting faster and faster.

Changes are happening.

Have they got your attention yet?

Guess what?

There is someone who has gotten worse press, a really bad rap, all these years.

Most of us are even afraid to mention His name, because of all the religious dogma that comes with it.

Ya know what I say, Phoey - we need to stand up for what we believe in and whom we believe.

Introducing once again...back by popular demand... and needed......

JESUS is His name!

He died and rose again.

He did not completely leave us... He sent his comforter..

"Neverthe less I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." John 16:7

So why all the bad stuff?

Maybe it will all remain a mystery to us till the end.

Maybe we can't understand it all right now with our limited minds.

Maybe this is just as God had planned it!

You just have to put your trust in God as He knows what He is doing, and that nothing is s surprise to Him!

"Who laid the foundations of the earth that it should not be removed for ever." Psalm 104:5

We are His workmanship!

"For we re His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10

Has the treasure of Truth been tainted and cheated for the way that it was presented to you?

Have you had a contact with a so called Christian?

Was that person offensive?

I personally have had a experience from a so called Christian. They did not take the time to care about their bad breath, body odor, dirty, holey clothes that they had on. They never once smiled as they proceeded to try to tell me about God. Even as they had finished they had used rude comments like "don't blame me or Jesus if you go to hell."

Sometimes people can't see past us to hear our message.

We will never have a second chance to make a first impression!

When we tell people about the love of God, and His saving grace it should be presentable, not cheap, unattractive, or out of date, but the best that we can give!

God worked through Solomon in First Kings Chapters 5-6 on rebuilding the temple.

What quality!

What detail!

It was exquisite.

With everything that was done, down to the tiniest detail was exact.

God cares about His workmanship in you!

When we look at the beauty and intimacy of the world that He created, you can see all the detail that was put into it.

As Christians we represent the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.

Do you not always want to present your best to Him?

We may not have a fortune, or our wardrobe maybe limited, but we can always be neat and clean.

We as Christians have enough barriers to overcome in this society without friction from sloppy dress, poor workmanship, or offensive habits that would repel others than to attract.

We do not have to change our message, but let's present it in a little more attractive way.

Let's take more care in the things of God.

When Solomon built the temple everything had to just be precise.

Solomon only used the best wood, gold, stone, everything was done with precise care.

Solomon took care in what he was doing.

How much more care should we take with the things of God.

We are His workmanship and we should reflect that beauty and grace that was given to us from above.

God's people are to be living examples.

If you take a look in the mirror do you like what you see?

Everyday is a special day, seize it.

Let what is on the inside out, as beauty come from within.

When God looks at beauty, He looks at the heart.

"God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and woman look at the face; God looks into the heart." 1Samuel 16:7c Message Bible

Just remember that we are His workmanship.

God made nothing bad, He gave everything that was His to us to enjoy.

"And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, and in all understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship," Exodus 31:3

Do you have a daily meeting with God?

"And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint." Luke 18:1

Do you ever struggle with what to pray about?

Do you ever think that God is too busy for you and your petty problems?

Nothing could be farther from the truth!

Do you feel guilty that you don't pray except for when you are in dire need?

Do you expect things to happen when you pray?

Are you very hesitant when you pray?

We have a king that will meet us right where we are!

He gives us the invitation to come in and dine and be in fellowship in His presence.

Prayer doesn't change God it only changes us.

Prayer will show us where or what we need to change in our life.

Prayer is our communication with God.

Prayer is your intimate connection with the Almighty One!

Prayer allows us to participate in the work that He is doing.

Prayer will even allow us to see His actions in relationship to our prayers.

God hears every prayer!

His purpose in prayer goes far beyond giving us a measurable response.

God wants to transform your life through prayer!

Spending time with God can in no way ever be underestimated.

It is more than just doing a exercise to be checked off as something that is on your to do list.

Prayer is a vital part of your growing relationship with Him!

It is when you put all your distractions aside and focus on Him alone.

Your heart will be purified, your motives will be sifted, and He will clarify your life from His perspective, His Word.

Your passion for God and His obedience will be strong.

Your personal relationship will be deepened and enlarged when you spend time talking to Him.

Prayer is talking to the Father about your needs and wants, desires and dreams, concerns of each day, that He already knew about before we were to ask.

":for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him." Matthew 6:8b

He wants you to be able to come to Him with everything.

He wants You to begin to see Him as the provider for all your needs.

Why not trust Him today?

God will melt all those anxieties away as you learn to trust Him.

God uses prayer to change your heart.

Why not let that transforming experience of knowing Him overflow as you learn to trust Him.

The more that we pray, the more the transformations you'll discover.

"Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Do you forgive others?

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:" Matthew 6:14

Forgiveness a very tough thing for some people to do!

Do you have people that continual try to provoke you everyday?

Do you have a bossy or nagging husband / wife?

Do you have an intimidating mother in law?

Are your children selfish?

What about being in an argument with a really good friend?

These are only a few things that might have had a disagreement and we have left them hanging.

We need to bring the right kind of closure to the matter.

We need to be the bigger person and ask the other for forgiveness.

We need to extend that forgiveness.

"Then came Peter to Him, and said Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but seventy times seven." Matthew 18:22

Forgiveness it the last thing that Jesus prayed for as He hung on the cross.

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Luke 23:34a

When we forgive others we are doing what Christ did for us.

If you have bitterness and hate these rots will begin to spring up and soon be controlled by fruits of unforgiveness.

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of his evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks."

Our heart is like a garden.

Whatever kind of seed we plant then that is the kind of seed we get. When we plant seeds of the Spirit....Peace, love joy, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance, and meekness.... These produce flowers. They are going to come back to us as good things. When we plant seeds of wrath, hate, unforgiveness, deceitfulness, vengeance, anger, disobedience, discord, these are the weeds, or tears, thorns that come up to spoil the good that you have sown.

Which seed are you going to plant?

Don't be astonished at what you are reaping by what you plant.

Ask God for forgiveness and start by planting the right type of seeds today.

Don't let the smallest grudge, or insult have room to grow.

Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is essential to emotional and physical health, along with our spiritual growth.

When we forgive we free ourselves emotionally and spiritually, as we have left it in the hands of the Father.

There is nothing like the forgiveness and love of God!

When we forgive we are aligning ourselves in line with His obedience.

We must wait on God to deal with those whom have harmed us, our reputation.

Through His wonderful grace and forgiveness, we have been given eternal life.

Which seeds do you want to plant?

Life giving or death and destruction?

We all deserved death, but He gave us life.

Let us bring to life the way of the Christian life as it was meant to be with forgiveness.

"But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven." Luke 6:35-37

Are you pressing in to know the Lord?

"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth prepared as the morning: and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth." Hosea 6:3

Are you living His will?

Are you living His way?

Are you happy living the way that you are living?

Do you need to be revived?

Have you grown in knowledge of Him?

Do you have a personal relationship with Him?

When we really start to know the Lord, the things that we have learned that have been stored up in our brain will then move to the heart.

God doesn't just want us to know about Him, - He wants you to know Him!

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." Mark 12:30

We are to love the Lord with all our passion, all our prayer, all of our energy, and all of our thoughts.

God is not burdened with us.

Let God rule your thoughts and actions.

It is not enough just to have scripture memorized!

We have to download that information into our everyday living.

When we start to use this information everyday then our heart will gradually change.

God wants to take us from facts and feelings to that core relationship with Him.

He wants you to feel that eternal relationship with Him.

There is no place that we can go that God is not with us!

He is with you at work, doing chores, in the car, while you sleep, while your on vacation.

Whatever you are doing God is right there in the midst of it with you.

Have you felt His presence lately?

Even if you have not - He is there!

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen" Matthew 28:20

There is nowhere we can go and nothing that we do that He does not know about.

We have to press in to know God on a personal level.

Your relationship with Him should be as if you are walking hand in hand with each other.

When we keep in step with Him, He will keep your feet on His path.

Just as God walked in the garden with Adam and Eve, He walks with you!

"Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you," James 4:8a

Close to the Father's heart

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker" Psalm 95:6

How close are you to God?

Can you hear His heart beat?

When we live next to the Father's heart we can express our every feeling.

He knows every detail of your every moment of life.

He created you!

When we get next to the Father it is here in prayer that we can pour out our hurts, our anger, our disappointments, our dreams, our so called secrets (Those He was waiting for you to tell Him, as He already knew.)

He wants to hear your cares, fears, hurts.

He will never reject you!

"Let your conservation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5

There are and will be plenty of times that you will not understand what God is upto in your life.

You will just have to keep pressing in to Him, worship Him, even if for nothing else but that great love that He has for you.

He is at work in all circumstances in your life.

God allows obstacles so that you can learn to trust Him through your circumstance.

He does not want to harm you, but to bless you.

He is your sovereign deliver, and in Him there is eternal hope for every situation.

We have to get rid of that doubt that is in our heart.

He may seem distant, but He is always working for you.

Do you have intimacy with your heavenly Father?

Does He have your unwavering faithfulness?

If not what are you waiting for?

What value do you place on prayer?

What kind of emphasis do you have on spending time with Him, talking to Him, praising and worshipping Him?

God has given us prayer, praise and worship as a direct means of communication with Him.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6

He is personal, not limited to space or time.

One who inhabits the hearts of all who believe Him.

God never changes!

He is always loving, always caring, always working for your good.

His power will always stand firm in the midst of any storm!

"The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." Psalm 145:18

Are you growing as a Christian?

Are you growing as a Christian?

Do you have habits worth keeping?

Are you staying close to where you first got in?

It is like the little boy we fell out of bed. His mom asked what had happened, the little boy answered that he must have stayed to close to the edge where he had got in.

When we stay where we are at there is something wrong.

We are not to stay where we are at but to grow and mature in the Lord.

Take a good look at yourself and see if you are the same way you were a year ago, what about six months ago.

Have you stopped growing?

yah know if your child stops growing then you sure wouldn't hesitate to call the doctor and find out what was wrong.

Our relationship with God should be the same way.

When we are having trouble it should draw us closer to Him, it should not go the opposite way.

We need to run some spiritual tests upon ourselves.

The tests are to be run on your heart.

Do you have any of these habits?

The habit of prayer

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth: and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:8-9

The habit of study

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

The Habit of giving

"The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself." Proverbs 11:25

The habit of fellowship

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

These are habits worth having.

Isn't it good to know that some habits are good for you?

Have you let these habits just become a duty that you perform as a Christian?

We have to get a hold of these habits.

There is not way that we can apply the world's views, the world's methods to Spiritual needs.

We need to pay attention to how much secular/ worldly things take time away from our habits with God.

Some of us have forgotten why we take the time, and with whom we spend it with.

Perhaps some of us need to reevaluate our priorities.

Lets not stay on the edge, but dive completely into that river that is waiting for us.

Let us walk worthy of the Lord.

Let you life so shine around you, so that all will know without even having to second guess - well he/she says they are a Christian.

"Your God has commanded strength; strengthen, O God, what you have done for us." Psalm 68:28

Friday, July 14, 2006

Does His Word come alive?

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14

How would you live if you knew that every word and thought first had to be screened?

How do you rank on meditating on His word?

We as Christians are not called to just sit around.

We have been rescued from the penalty of sin by faith in God.

We should be being transformed when we have that relationship with Him.

If we have that real relationship with Him, there should be an unmatched, unparalleled intensity and zeal for Him.

The Greek word for hot literally means boiling hot.

Now that's hot.

We need to be that on fire for God.

He gave the greatest sacrifice, He gave His only Son, without even blinking.

He wants us to love Him with all our heart.

He wants us to love Him with all our soul.

He wants us to love Him with all our mind.

He wants us to serve Him cheerfully and thankfully.

He wants us to worship Him wholeheartedly and with fervor.

Why?

He wants the best from us so that He can give us His best.

He wants to give us His fullness on a daily basis.

He desires that we experience this on a daily basis.

He wants more than just lip service.

He wants more than (maybe) just once a week, when we go to church.

He wants more that just casual love and worship, or a sporadically relationship with Him.

Our love for God will make us do things that we ordinarily would not do.

We will be doing things out of a heart full of love and devotion.

When you love God and obey His ways you are telling Him that you reverence Him and honor Him for who He is!

The more that you love and obey Him, the more exciting and rewarding your journey and worship experience will become.

When the Word comes alive in your heart, you will enter a new dimension of prayer, praise, and worship for Him.

The secret of prayer, praise, worship, and relationship is not to waiting until everything is ok, peaceful and calm, but doing it in and through the storm that has come your way.

It is learning to trust in Him during the most difficult times that you go through.

We have to come to the point that we can give Him everything regardless of the situation whether it be good or bad.

"Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11

Lord, thank You for all the difficulties. I will praise You in the storms. Thank You for the intimacy that I have with You. Thank you for Your truth each and everyday, and for letting the Word come alive in my heart!

Are you passionate to know Him?

"Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you." James 4:8a

Drawing nigh to God is like having a best friend only better.

Our relationship is continually growing for more of Him.

When we draw close to Him we are telling Him that we would rather spend time with Him more than anything.

There is nothing more precious to God than when we spend time with Him.

It is like a fix - something that you just have to have or do.

Do you have or do something on a regular basis?

You are passionately pursuing that something.

God wants to be that something.

We just don't drop our best friends or that regular something a whim and pick it up months later.

So why do we put God on a shelf or on the back burner?

Our relationship with the Lord can be an emotional let down if you let it.

Why?

Your relationship with the Lord will be the truest friendship you will ever have.

Your relationship with the Lord will Be the most intimate friendship, if you will let it.

Jesus brings His agape love to the table for you.

He comes with His arms wide open to welcome you.

He will never come to hurt you.

He is you Lifeline!

It is when we don't fellowship with Him that we will feel the effects after you have been with Him.

There is a place where sadness and loneliness can be satisfied.

There is a place where every need is met, whether it be physically or spiritually.

The only way to get to this place is by being with Him!

The more time that you spend with Him and meditate on His truth, the greater your passion will grow.

Do you have a passion to know Him?

The Smartian women at the well discovered this principle in the short amount of time just talking to Jesus.

Her curiosity rose up with in her as Jesus offered her living water.

She was very full of different emotions as she knew that Jesus indeed was a prophet.

In all of her excitement she ran to tell the others in town.

Excitement!

This is what will happen when we start getting closer to Him.

When we start learning about Him.

We will then be able to say ok, Lord what's on the agenda today.

We will put our full trust in Him.

He will meet our every need.

We will want to share our experiences with others.

Our excitement will grow and grow as we get passionate with Him.

When we get next to Him we shall be a different person than we were before.

He will change you from within and without.

Don't let a day go by without spending time with Him.

Think of what you do on a regular basis...

How much joy does it bring you?

Does it bring you peace?

Does it help your soul to prosper?

Does it wipe all your fears away?

Does it forgive you for your sin?

Does it leave you longing for more?

Does it give you hope?

What does that daily thing that you do, what does it do for you?

This walk with Jesus is as hard or as easy as you want to make it.

He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Before you even whisper that most intimate prayer He is already right there waiting for you to come and spend some time with Him.

He knows your heart, He knows your tender thoughts.

He will never leave you or forsake you!

He loves You!

He is trying to draw closer to you.

Won't you join Him today?

Lord, keep my passion strong for you never let that fire go out!

Thank You for sticking with me through thick and thin!

Our life is not our own.

"Wait on the Lord: and be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." Psalm 27:14

How do you describe yourself?

Are you...

Giving or Serving or are you interested in the constant welfare of others?

Do you have selfish ambitions?

"Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

Look not everyman on his own things, but everyman also on the things of others." Philippians 2:3-4

That doesn't mean to be a nosey rosey.

We are to lay aside any selfishness and treat others with respect and common courtesy.

We need to have a genuine interest in others showing them we care and are not out just to get something in return.

Being a child of God means we are to live sacrificially.

When we live sacrificially we generally have to have to give up something.

We sometimes have to sacrifice our wants, our desires, or even or needs.

Sacrifice can mean taking on something that you really don't want to do so someone else will not have to bear the burden.

Jesus can and done that for us!

He took the punishment for our sins when He died upon the cross.

Our earthly sacrifice can not even compare to that of Jesus.

Jesus laid down His life for us.

What have you done for Him?

We must lay our life down for others.

We must lay our life down for the gospel.

We must do what must needs be done whole heartedly.

We must remove ourselves from the standards of success set by the world and look upon the Word of God for our validation.

"Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed." John 6:27

Lord, draw me close to you, bring me by the way of the cross as I give my life totally to you.

God is Love

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." 1 John 4:8

Ya know, some of the deepest hurts come from those whom we care about.

These relationships are the hardest to heal.

Maybe something happened to you as a child and it effected you, but until now you had put it on the back burner.

Here is a illustration.....

Maybe you were standing on the side of a pool, and you dad was coaxing you in "He said that I will catch you." You are afraid because the water that you are standing in is way over your head. Your rely is "Daddy I'm scared." Normal reaction especially if you don't know how to swim Your dad shouts back "Yes, you can." You finally get the nerve to jump in - guess what your dad had moved. He didn't catch you. He moved out even farther thinking maybe that you would swim to him. You had been crushed, "Daddy why didn't you catch me?" Your dad then proceeds to tell you that you got upset over nothing and that he was not going to let you drown.

It is when we put our trust in people that we get let down.

God never meant for the storms of our life to seperate us from Him.

He has the ability to restore the power of love.

1 Corinthians tells us what love is.

God loves you and I with that same kind of love.

God's love toward me is kind.

God's love toward me is patient.

God's love toward me is not provoked.

God's love toward me does not take into any account a wrong suffered.

God's love toward me would bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things.

God intended for each of us to experience the goodness of His intimate love and personal care.

God's love will never fail!

God's love is not an option!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,:" John 3:16

Just knowing that God's love is for us should give us a warm and special feeling on the inside.

It feels really nice to say those three letter words.

"We love Him because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19

Sometimes it is overwhelming to think that God loves us that way.

Sometimes we wonder even if our earthly father loves us, maybe we can't feel his love, maybe his actions didn't (don't) speak love.

Our God loves us unconditionally, no matter what!

We can not let the resentment of our past rob us of our future.

We can not let the resentment of our past rob us of our present.

We can not let the resentment of our past rob us of our joy!

Don't give room for that resentment, grudge, or insult any room to grow!

When we forgive we align our lives up with His standard of obedience.

If God can love them any way they are, so can we. Who am I to object?

We must love whom ever has hurt us the way that they are and leave it in God's hands.

We must have an attitude of love for and accept that person as he/she is.

Once we do we will be free from criticizing, judging or even expressing our feelings verbally or nonverbally.

The one whom has hurt you will eventually feel your acceptance, that was God given to you, and will begin to respond back to you.

God will restore your relationship!

Sometimes we need to go out of our way to do something a little extra special or even a present for no other reason than to say "I love you and are thinking of you."

What is something special that you could do for that one whom you have resentment of?

Are you willing to go and ask for forgiveness for your self for some of your actions and bad attitudes?

Even if that person can't remember only but one thing that has really stuck with them, ask them if they are willing to forgive you.

This will help in the healing process.

The Bible not only tells us to love.

"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:18

The Bible tells us how to love.

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love." 1 John 4:7-8

God is love; we're His little children.
God is love; we would be like Him.
"Tis love that makes us happy,
"Tis love that smoothes the way;
It helps us mind, it makes us kind
To others every day.

In whom have you placed your trust?

We must not plant our hopes in someone else's performance, or even our own.

When we trust in others or ourselves our lives become a roller coaster ride simply because daily life, people's daily performances go up and down.

Where have you placed your hopes?

Is it God?

Is it in things?

Is it in people?

God, sees the beginning and the end, and He knows where each one of us has come from.

God sees all the hurt we have experienced.

When someone else has caused us pain, we in our human nature want to retaliate.

When we do this we can destroy any relationship.

We need to practice giving a blessing when we have been hurt.

We can choose to love those instead of judge when someone hurts us.

We need to be a blessing to each other by sowing good seeds into each other's life.

I am not talking about money.

It could be as simple as a kind word like...

You are doing a good job.

Thank you for your help.

That looks good.

Good idea.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Things will get better.

When we sow seeds, you don't just get one off that plant, take for example strawberries. One plant yields many berries, and we got back exactly what we sowed, and even more than what we sowed.

The same thing is true with our actions.

When we hear that negativity has come forth we automatically respond, "You reap what you sow."

This principle holds true of our actions, whether it be good or bad.

Sowing bad seeds can reap difficulties, but sowing good seeds can reap harmony, and love.

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary." Galatians 6:7-9 Living Bible

There is a reaction for every action.

If you sow to please yourself, watch out for trouble.

If you plant to pleas God, you will reap joy and everlasting life.

Do you need to make peace with some one?

"And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace." James 3:18

What is righteousness - simply stated it is right standing with God.

A righteous seed is a Christ like response to any given situation.

Galatians 5 talks about the fruits of the Spirit - "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control; against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

There is no law against how much we can partake and distribute these fruits.

When someone sends a hate seed your way you can choose to let it take root, and make a bigger crop of hatred and then send it back to the person in which it came from.

When you let it take root it only causes hatred, more resentment, and even bitterness.

Or

We can take that hate seed and refuse to retaliate.

We then break that cycle by forgiving and doing good to the other person.

When we plant our hopes in someone else's performance, or our own it can contribute to problems.

Our natural human life is full of ups and downs like a roller coaster, because of people's performances.

Where have you placed your hope?

"And now, Lord, what I wait for? My hope is in thee." Psalm 39:7

By your Spirit, Lord, do for me and through me what I can not do for myself!

Do you care more about your reputation with people or with Me?

Have you been fooled?

Do you have thoughts like How to I know that there is a God?

How do I know that Christians are not just fooling themselves?

Do you feel as if you are fooling yourself?

Do you feel as if that you know one part is Christianity is real, but these thoughts keep plaguing you, or is if you can't believe.

Do you have anxieties?

Do you have trouble sleeping or eating?

Do you wonder even if you are a Christian?

Have you ever asked what faith is?

Faith is taking God at His Word.

There is a spiritual battle going on the inside of your mind.

How often do you spend meditating on God's Word?

Do you have your Bible close?

Ok, let's take a look into the good book, the Bible.

Turn with me to 1 Peter 5:6-10 Living Bible Translation

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time."

What does that tell you?

"Humble yourself"

How do you humble yourself?

"Casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you."

How many anxieties?

"All"

Why do we respond to that? "Because He cares for me."

If we do not give Him our daily struggles, we are showing God that we have not trusted Him.

He cares for you!

"Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

God is warning you to be on the alert!

Why?

Because the devil is out to trip you up.

Who is the devil?

The devil is our adversary; the enemy; one that opposes or resists.

"But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world."

What does God tell you to do?

Resist satan.

How are we resist him?

By staying "firm in your faith."

What is faith?

Faith is taking God at His Word.

Knowing that in the same experiences of our sufferings, we are not alone.

Other people are going through the same things that you are going through.

"After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you."

What you are going through won't last forever.

We must choose to believe.

We must choose to believe in the right things, not the wrong things.

You must have faith to believe.

God has given each a measure of faith.

", according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3c

The change will come when we chose to believe God's Word in the heat of a spiritual battle, whether it be for the mind or the will.

We need to put our trust in God, than he who is in the world.

We need to trust in Christ not in our self or others.

We need to live in such a way that neither God, or man could point a finger at us.
