Are you disciplined in prayer?

"And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8:27

Are you daily spending time in fellowship with Jesus?

Do you accept the situation that you are in?

Do you praise Him in every situation?

Do you have a habit of praying?

If you do not you can start small, you can start with just a few minutes, because you can always add more time.

Do you use God's Word when you pray?

God's Word will give you that hope to hold onto in your situation.

At the same time God's word will let you remind God about you what He has said about your situation.

One of my favorite scriptures to use is : "Beloved wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperth." III John 2

This gently reminds God that He would that we would prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.

It is good to use scripture when we pray.

You need to keep that commitment of praying each day.

If you are just starting out, it is good to have a friend to be accountable with just to help you get in the habit.

Someone in whom you can call or have them call you just to make sure at that appointed time you have set aside, to help you be faithful to your commitment.

Are you an early bird?

Are you a night owl?

Set your time with God according to how you function.

You can use a prayer list to help you get started.

On your list think about and be specific the needs of those people on your list.

You will not always need a list, God will start to bring these people to your mind with their needs.

Prayer is more than asking and receiving.

We ask and God answers.

Prayer is fellowship with God

Prayer gives us an opportunity each day to search our heart, and weed out those tears.

Prayer will increase your hunger for Him.

Do you have confidence when you pray?

Confidence is the cornerstone of prayer!

When we have confidence we know that God has heard our prayer.

We know that His disposition is to hear prayer.

His disposition is to hear, respond and bless the requests of those....

whom he hath called....
whom He hath sanctified...
whom He hath justified...
whom He has fore ordained...
to be in the body!

He responds to those who have an eternal call and destiny.

Those whom He has chosen!

Moreover whom He did predistinate, them He also called: and whom He called He justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified." Romans 8:30

When we pray we are expressing our gratitude for His mercies!

When we pray we express our sorrow for our sins!

When we pray we are expressing our hope for His glorifying love!

When we pray we are expressing our submission to authority!

When we pray we are expressing our confidence in His care!

When we pray we are expressing our desires for His favors, and for providential and spiritual blessings for ourselves and others!

When we pray we are expressing our thanksgiving for His person.

When we pray we are assuming that God is a real and living person.

when we pray we are saying that He is immense and dwells in heaven, but is as close at hand and hears our prayers.

We assume that although He is a far off, He hears and is close by.

We assume that He is willing to communicate with us and knows not only our words, but our thoughts and the intent of our hearts!

We assume that He is in personal control!

He is in personal control of all things, all nations and the world.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11
