Do you have your armor on?

"Finally, my brethern, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:10 - 13

Do you feel miserable, frustrated or defeated in your life?

Do you try to serve God with your whole heart, and still don't know how to resolve your conflicts?

Do you know how to make choices to change you situation and to be set free?

Do you feel powerless in your battles?

Is your position in Christ secure?

Do you have that protection that is found in Him?

Even though we are new creations in Christ, we still battle the world, the flesh, and the devil.

This battle involves more than just self talk.

You have got to know what you are doing so that you do not loose this battle. Are you dressed for battle?

"The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." Romans 13:12

When we are putting on the armor of God, we are putting on His armor of light.

When we put on Christ, we are taking ourselves out of the natural, which is where we are vulnerable to attack.

When we put on the armor properly, the enemy cannot touch us.

It is an act of our will that we allow God to give us His power by the putting on of His armor.

After we get suited up then we can hold our ground against the enemy.

We become immovable and unshakeable against the enemy.

We need to take off all the natural carnal man's armor and put on God's to fully appreciate our spiritual armor.

This means that we have to let go of our will, our thoughts and ideas and pick up God's will, God's Word, God's knowledge.

Every piece of God's armor is necessary, by not keeping His armor on we only get slowed down, and that will cause us to stumble in battle.

"Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:11

We must wear the armor if we are to stand against the devil. When we don't put the armor of Christ, we are on the same level as our enemy.

"But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." Romans 13:14

As the commander and chief of our army, He has provided everything that we need to stay victorious over the enemy.

You can't expect God to protect you if you don't take part.

We have one on the inside who is much greater than the one on the outside who wants to destroy you.

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." I John 4:4

Great trials await us, we must stand strong in the power of His might.

We cannot let the wind blow us this way or that, do not let your guard down.

We have to continue to stand if we intend to keep what God has already given us.

God has given us the armor and the faith to stand fully clothed as we stand.

There are three pieces of the armor that we have received as we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

They use the words having, which means that we already have them on.

The belt, breastplate, and our shoes are already on: having girded, having put on, having shod.

With these already on, we are half way dressed, but He calls us to put the whole armor on.

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." Ephesians 6:14

When we put on the armor of God we must remember that it is His armor that we bear.

We must completely surrender of ourselves to put on His armor.

Each piece of the armor is part of the identity process of who we are in Christ.

Who is our truth, who is our righteousness?

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

The belt of truth also guards our loins, out of which guards our seed.

Our loins produce those spiritual things that extend into eternity that have everlasting value and significance.

With our loins girded with truth, we are in His innermost being.

Facing the truth, and getting rid of those lies is our first step in our walk.

The only way to overcome the lies of the enemy is not by the efforts put forth as human thought, but by that which is set forth in God's Word.

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17

We must speak God's truth over ourselves, and only participate in activities that are in line with the truth of God - His Word.

In the Greek, the word truth just does not refer to God's written Word, but of an honest heart and purity of motive.

The belt of truth holds other pieces of our armor, including the breastplate that is attached, along with the sword that hangs from it.

With all that tension around our middle, it is here as an attitude check, to keep our focus, do not compromise your position!

Stay planted on the Rock of our salvation, that way each piece of the armor can be securely fastened to each other.

"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." Deuteronomy 32:4

Basically you can't have one without the other, as each piece of he armor all work together.

The breastplate that we wear it covers everything from our shoulders to our loins.

The main purpose of the breastplate is to protect our heart. Are we keeping our hearts pure and open before God?

Righteous is that which is upright before God.

"The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him: and all thy upright in heart shall glory." Psalm 64:10

Being in right standing before God, to be righteous, we must look at our motives, our behavior, and get rid of that which is not right.

"They search out iniquities: they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep." Psalm 64:6

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ:" II Corinthians 10:5

"Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established." Proverbs 16:3

We become righteous at the moment that we believe in Jesus and are saved.

We are made righteous through Jesus, not covered with righteous.

The word made in the Greek is katastabeesontai which means a permanent condition of being.

God made the absolute, eternal blood sacrifice so that through Him we were made righteous.

We still have to put on that on that breastplate of righteousness so that God can manifest in our lives.

We have to get rid of our sinful human nature and make our flesh line up with the Word of God.

We have to get rid of our unrighteousness, it as filthy rags before God, whereas our motives, our thoughts and our behavior must be in continual agreement with God.

Our victory is won daily!

We must protect our heart and life with the breastplate of righteousness.

With a purified heart it will beat after righteousness that only comes through God.

"Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God." Philippians 1:11

"And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace." Ephesians 6:15

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into His grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of glory of God." Romans 5:1,2

After we receive Christ, we have the Prince of Peace at our side.

We must have that peace ruling in our heart.

That can only happen when we get in God's Word, and let it sink in, into our hearts.

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:15,16

The roman soldier had these strong sandal type shoes, which had studded nails that pierced the ground and provided excellent stability as they walked.

The word preparation means to be established or a firm foundation.

"Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste." Isaiah 28:16

Our sure foundation is found in the gospel of peace.

This is referring to the quality or benefits that the gospel offers, such as it strengthens, it settles, and will stabilize a believer.

The word shod is to simply cover up, over feet. Our feet should never touch the ground bare.

We are not to go anywhere without that firm foundation of the gospel without walking in peace.

Peacemakers bring people together, and encourage fellowship.

If we are true believers of Christ that should be enough to bring us all together in peace.

The peace of God will keep us standing firm.

"Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all." II Thessalonians 3:16

"Above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy." Ephesians 6:16

The shield of faith is in which we trust in god and His word.

The more knowledge that you have in His word, and know about Him the more faith that you will have.

God will give us more strength the more we endure.

Nothing can grow spiritually without a struggle.

The more that you know the bigger the shield, the less you know the smaller the shield.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and by hearing the word of God." Romans 10:17

Your knowledge of God, and His word must increase if you want your faith to increase.

Those fiery darts that the enemy sends our way to bombard us, we need to put out the fiery darts with the truth -the Word of God.

Each piece of the armor is very valuable.

The shield of faith is used as a covering or protection of all the other pieces of armor.

We are talking about the protection of the mind, our faith needs to be so strong that it is unshakeable in what God says.

We are to be in complete alignment of what God says in His Word.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:17

The helmet of salvation covers the most important part- your mind.

The place where all the spiritual battles are won or lost.

As we struggle on a daily basis with our flesh, the world, and the enemy we have to stand firm.

Our salvation is not based by our good works.

It is by the works of Christ.

We always doubt our salvation when we are under attack.

The helmet of salvation means that we are to dwell on our salvation.

The devil cannot penetrate a mind that is focused on one's salvation.

We have to be assured of our salvation.

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:" Romans 8:16

We belong to Him, if we are saved.

We are His child and we are going to live forever with Him.

Salvation is the greatest gift that anyone could ever think of receiving.

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God.

This is the rhema word, because it is more appropriate to the use of preaching and others listening.

We have to speak out God's word, His truth.

Satan doesn't always know what we are thinking contrary to popular belief. God is the only one whom you can go to with the thoughts of your mind and he knows what you are thinking.

"For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10

God's word should dwell in your heart, and be an automatic response to life's daily challenges.

The word has to be hidden deep within our heart and mind, so it will be ready to speak in time of trouble.

If we can't speak out loud God's Word how are we going to be able to stand?

Once you have put on God's armor, then you will be able to take over the promised land.

Our hearts should be continuously submitted to His Word and His Spirit, and all our actions will always carry out His will.

We have to choose to obey those in authority over us and trust in Him, then our faith will grow.

We must obey those in authority over us, and do as they teach us.

When we learn these principles and concepts, the principle of authority and submission, we then can apply God's principles to any situation.
