True or False Love

Do you love others with a pure fervent heart?

"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently." I Peter 1:22

The phrase unfeigned love means that it is a genuine love, with no pretense.

Did you know that the greatest sign of spiritual maturity is not gifts, not miracles, or any aspect of ministry, but that love that we are to have towards one another.

"This is My commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12-13

Maybe at some point in your past you have encountered those that have pretended.

They say all the right things but their love was not that of the love of God, it was only skin deep.

In I Corinthians it talks of love telling us that love "beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

In today's society we confuse love with lust.

God's love is directed outward toward others not inward towards our self.

God's love is not selfish.

God's love goes against our natural inclinations or natural disposition.

God's love helps us to set aside our own desires and instincts.

God's love helps us to give love while expecting nothing in return.

The more of God's love that we truly have in our hearts, the more we become like Christ, the more love that we will show to others.

In today's society we have lost the sight of the importance of demonstrating real love.

There is a lot of pretending love going on.

Just because there are counterfeits out there that is no reason for us to shun those things that are genuine.

If you need a comparison, just think about the counterfeit money.

The fact that there are counterfeits does not exclude me, or hinder from using the good ones that come into our possession.

There are good ones and bad ones, lets be sure that we are not the counterfeits.

Most of the time people do not ask God to bathe them in His love for people.

God has called us to be a people that are set apart.

"But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for Himself:" Psalms 4:3a

His gifts and miracles are meaningless without love.

God has called us to have that fervent love to others.

There are those whom some have called unlovely, those who would not be the first choice to lavish that love upon.

Some people say that....
I can love everyone except....
I do love them, but I hate their ways.
I love them, but I just don't want to be with them.

There is no exceptions in God!

If we truly loved people there would be no added clause.

When you sat that you don't want to be with someone that speaks louder than when you say you really love them.

Your words and actions speak volumes.

We need to let God do a work in our spirit, so that we will truly be genuinely able to love people.

So that we can love people fervently as the scriptures tell us too.

One of the most important and most wonderful things is to be able to look our brothers and sisters face to face and eye to eye and say we love them.

If we say that we love Him, we should demonstrate love to one another.

God is calling us to look at each other as He looks.

God looks upon the heart.

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on his height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." I Samuel 16:7

God is calling us to put those petty differences aside and to look at their heart as He would.

This goes totally against what the world believes today, but we are called to a higher realm.

We are called to love.

We are called to be able to love with no pretense, no reservations, no ulterior motives.

If there is someone that you have been avoiding, or you just have that awkward moment, that keeps you from seeing that person the way that we should love them, ask the Lord for His help.

Don't avoid that problem, that only makes it worse.

We need to ask God to shed His love abroad in our hearts, even the deep places of our heart.

One day we expect to look face to face and eye to eye with our Lord.

Will you be able to look at Him and tell Him that His grace is sufficient for all your needs?

Will you be able to tell Him that His love was more than enough for all.

Will you be able to tell Him that you had that genuine love for your brothers and sisters?

"If any man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, that he who loveth God love his brother also." I John 4:20-21

You can't fool God.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17

Have you acknowledged the existence of your sinful fallen condition before a Holy God?

Have you turned from your sin, letting go of that old lifestyle?

Have you given your life totally to Jesus Christ and Him alone?

Can you really say from your heart that He is your only reason for living?

Has He become the very reason for life itself?

Has He become to you everything that you love and long for?

Have you been transformed by the power of the gospel?

Is your name in the book of life?

Did you know that just because someone says that it is there does not always confirm that it is there.

Just because someone says that you know the Lord, like your pastor, or your mom or your friends does not mean that you really do.

No one can fool God.

He knows all.

Your name is not in the book of life cause you say that it is there.

You must know the Lord on an intimate level.

One will truly know the Lord when their life, their behavior, their actions and attitudes confirm that change.

There are no perfect people reading this, or even I by writing this.

We must be a people of change, who are changing day by day.

Life is very simple, it is us who make it complex.

Sure, the enemy is more powerful than we are, but Jesus is more powerful than the enemy.

We should not give place to the enemy.

We should have testimonies like...
I'm submitted to my partner...
I don't talk to my spouse the way I used to...
I don't continually yell at whoever when I get mad....
I don't go where I used to go...
I don't go looking for things that give me pleasure...
I don't do that something that made me feel guilty and ashamed...
I don't have to take a drink to take the edge off...
I don't have to use a certain substance to calm my nerves...

What ever it is you can fill in the blank.....

Our life should support our testimonies.

I don't have a testimony!

Yes, we all have one.

We all go through tests, this is how we get our testimonies.

When we are in Christ, there is no edge.

When we are in Christ there is only freedom.

Jesus has given us that freedom from whatever bondage that used to enslave us.

We are free in Jesus Christ!

Things do not always work out as smoothly as we think, but don't give up.

If you are truly in Christ, the power of sin and bondage has been broken off, and we start changing day by day.

We are changing each day, could be the language you use, your thoughts will change, your priorities are different and better, and your purpose will be that which is beyond yourself.

Just remember you can't play games and fool God.

So, I ask you again is your name in the Lamb's book of Life?

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

The reality of hell is real for any person who passes from this life not knowing Jesus Christ.

If He is not your pearl of great price He can be.

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth a field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man, seeking godly pearls: Who when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it." Matthew 13:44-46

Won't you come to Christ as your treasure?

Do you have that new life in Christ?

Have you had an experience with God?

If you have never, had that experience it is oh so easy.

All one has to do is pray from your heart, and confess with your mouth.

You don't even have to follow a big long prayer, let the word come straight from your heart.

Tell Him you know that you are a sinner, and on your own your headed for destruction.

If you truly believe that Jesus died for your sins, and that He rose again tell Him.

Tell Him that you want to turn from your sin, and you want to embrace all that He has for you and your life.

Let Him come and baptize your heart with His fire.

Let Him come and change and rearrange those things that need to be changed in your life.

Let Him make the man or woman that He wants you to be.

Come let Him stir up that fire within you.

Come and let all that pleasure that flows from the fountain of Joy, be found in your life.

Come and let Him change your life forever.

Take time and read His Word, the road map for our daily life, and enjoy the new found life in Him.

"So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness." Romans8:8-10

Where am I?

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Romans 8:35

Have you ever said to yourself or even thought about what a insignificant and temporal creature we truly are?

Between our life and death we have been permitted to live on this great earth for a time and after that....eternity.

Where are we exactly?

Our life is surrounded by mysteries.

Above us is an infinite sky, out of which comes many storms at the blink of an eye.

Below us is a sea full of mysterious life of marine animals.

An endless sea where many people have drowned.

So, where am I exactly?

We live in a world where demons rule, where wars are raged, where hopelessness, cruelty and fear predominate.

We live in a world where people die every three minutes from starvation, abortion, drug overdose, murder, rape, or even robbery, or road rage.

Where are we?

We live in a world in which God lived.

We live in a world in which God so loved.

"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

I live on an earth where soon He shall come, as He has promised.

"And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new." Revelation 21:5b

One day this beautiful earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

"For the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord, as the Waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14

So my question to you is where are you?

Where am I exactly?

At this present moment, I am in Him.

Underneath me are His eternal arms.

"Casting all your care upon Him: for He careth for You." I Peter 5:7

We have got to cast all our cares and burdens upon Him.

Take all that baggage that is so overfull and empty it out the Lord.

Lord, here they all are, all my baggage, my cares and burdens, help me now to leave them with Thee and continue my way unburdened.

"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass." Psalms 37:4-5

How to forgive

How To Forgive:

One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief, was walking in the woods. As he thought about his life this day, he knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had lied about him back when he had a job. His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated him. He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment and frustration.

Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would always be there. With tears in his eyes, he prayed: "Lord- You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed.

Today, you have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to forgive.

My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I pray that you teach me to do this one thing I cannot do - Teach me To Forgive" As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something fall onto his shoulder.

He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt. He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a large square piece of wood in the ground.

He raised his head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them. He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on a cross.

He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head.

Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His precious face As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak. "Have you ever told a lie?" He asked? The man answered - "yes, Lord." "Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?" The man answered - " yes. Lord." And the man sobbed more and more. "Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours?" Jesus asked? And the man answered - "yes, Lord." "Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain? " The man, crying now, answered - "yes, Lord." As Jesus asked many more times, "Have you ever"?

The man's crying became uncontrollable, for he could only answer - "yes, Lord."

Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and saw that it was the blood of Jesus.

When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man had never seen or known before. Jesus said, "I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you."

Is there someone in your past or present who you have felt you just could not forgive?

If Jesus could forgive us how can we not do the same?

Like the man in this story; we may not know how to forgive someone who has wronged us so badly, but, the Lord can enable us to do just that if we ask Him.

Is there someone you have not been able to forgive?

God’s Word has much to say about forgiveness:

"If a brother wrongs you 7 times a day & each time turns again and asks for forgiveness, forgive him." Luke 17:4-5

Forgive those offending you:

"But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive you your sins too." Mark 11:25-26

"Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but, if you refuse to forgive them , he will not forgive you." Matthew 6:14-15

If you have offended someone:

"So if you are standing before the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to God & suddenly remember that a friend has something against you, leave your sacrifice there beside the altar & go & apologize & be reconciled to him, & then come & offer your sacrifice to God. " Matthew 5:23-24

God wants forgiveness from the Heart:

"You will be turned over to the tormentors if you do not forgive from your heart." Matthew 18:35

After we have given & received forgiveness: God’s heart is to forgive us.

"Yes, I alone am He who blots away your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again." Isaiah 43:25

Is there someone in your life whom you have not forgiven?

Perhaps you feel you have forgiven, but, you are still remembering the hurt, perhaps you even still talk about it sometimes, that is not forgiveness.

If we ask the Lord to help us forgive that person, He will, He is faithful to do this His Word says so.

If we ask the Lord to forgive us for holding this unforgiveness against someone, He is faithful to do so and He will cause us to forget it once and for all.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus. Lord search our hearts and tell us if there is someone we are holding unforgiveness against. Perhaps it has been long ago, please bring it to our remembrance and help us forgive that person and have love in our hearts toward them.

At this Easter “Resurrection” weekend, I pray you and your family have a blessed Easter Sunday.

God Bless you.

Thought for the day....

"That in every thing ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge." I Corinthians 1:5

We must be careful not to do injustice to the truths of scripture by the analysis of logic.

God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord." Isaiah 55:8

We must comprehend things by faith.

Faith is our radar.

A radar shows the presence of something on it's screen.

It can penetrate the deep darkness to pick up it's image.

Like a ship in a total fog, not knowing what's ahead, the radar will pick up any images on the screen.

Our faith is like that radar.

It sees the reality of what is there.

The reality of the truth is that Jesus has always been right there beside us.

That victory can only been seen by our Faith.

Faith is that radar that penetrates the clouds of our logical thinking.

Faith sees clearly or perceives the love of God that passes all understanding.

"I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 89:1
