Loving God

"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous." 1 John 5:3

Did you know that faith in Christ and love for people relate to each other.

When you take time to read the Word of God for yourself it will make a difference in how you see it.

Sometimes people relate keeping commandments with the love of God.

"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." John 14:15

The scripture clearly separates loving Christ from obeying His commands.

"If you love Me" - that is one thing.

Then "you will keep My commandments", that is another.

The one leads to the other.

When you have the love of God in your heart, then you will want to keep His commandments.

When you have the one, you will want to do the other no questions asked.

It is by no means wrong to say that loving God, or loving Jesus includes doing what He commands.

There is more, just don't stop there.

Loving God is just not external obedience.

Loving God is having a heart for God that doesn't find His commandments a burdensome.

It is not something that is carried, or something oppressive or worrisome.

If His commandments are not burdensome, what are they?

They are desirable.

What you desire to do with your whole heart is not burdensome to do.

"I delight to do Thy will, O my God: yea, Thy law is within my heart." Psalm 40:8

"For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone. Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth; unite my heart to fear Thy name. I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Thy name forevermore." Psalm 86:10-12

"Thy testimonies are also my delight and my counsellors." Psalm 119:24

"Unless Thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction." Psalm 119:92

Loving God means to admire.

Loving God means to value and treasure Him.

Loving God means desiring Him in eager zealousness and worthy of acceptance based on fact that His will is our delight and is not burdensome.

"Forever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven." Psalm 119:89

"I will never forget Thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me." Psalm 119:93

"How sweet are Thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way." Psalm 119: 103-104

Life is a gift, and should only grow more valuable as we grow older.

One important thing in life is love.

Without love we die, at least on the inside.

It is when we try to substitute something for love it always ends up badly.

Without love we can not know God.

"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." 1 John 4:8

God know what you are going through.

God knows what you are going through.

God is not so great that He don't care, He cares alot about you!

God knows when things are going good and when they are going sour.

God knows when you are feeling blue and down in the mouth.

God knows when you don't feel good, or if you are having a great day.

God knows when we get concerned, frustrated, or just think we are going to lose it.

God knows!

God knows what you are going through in the midst of your tradgedy.

God knows about your financial situation.

God knows the struggles the we face each and everyday.

If He is not part of your life all you have to do is ask Him into your heart.

God knows every little detail of your life, won't you share the rest with Him?

He will encourage you.

He will challenge you.

Most of all He will love you!

There is not greater love in all the world than that our the Lord.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."1 John 4:10

He is ready to carry you through every situation from minor to major.

He is there in every circumstance.

Won't you Trust the Lord for the hard stuff as well as the easy stuff in your life?

We all go through suffering of some sort, so why do it alone?

Let Him speak to you in the days ahead.

He will gives us the strength that we need to make it through any circumstance when we call upon His name.

How much more when we have that personal relationship with Him!

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10

Approach, Appreciate, Apply

Approach, Appreciate, and Apply

"Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee." Psalm 119:11

No matter what our own distinctive weaknesses are God has called each one of us individually.

God walks and talks with each one of us on an individual basis.

Do you realize that as a believer in this life, one of our primary callings is to be in fellowship with God.

Are you committed to doing that which is right, just and fair?

Have you not noticed in your life, that the work of grace has touched your heart?

Is the Word of God empowered by the Spirit of God in your life, in your heart?

Is sin in your life allowing you to make all kinds of excuses so that you do not get into God's Word?

Did you know that when you approach and apply God's Word correctly, the grace of God will change you from the inside out.

How do you approach God's Word?

Do you revere it?

Do you ignore it?

Do you find that everything is relative?

For if you find it relative then one would have to assume that the Bible does not contain absolute truth.

"By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth." Psalm 33:6

I pray that you do not approach the Holy Scriptures with selectiveness.

It does not matter at all how we feel at that moment.

God's Word is not to be dissected.

God's Word is a revelation of Himself.

God's Word is to be delighted in.

God's Word has an answer for every need, every question that comes our way.

So, open up His Word and enjoy Him.

Ask God to reveal from His Word what you need.

Ask God to reveal from His Word what He wants you to learn.

Make His Word a daily habit.

Watch how it affects you overall attitude.

The change will be gradual, but others will start seeing a different side of you that they had not because you are giving of yourself to be in God's Word.

Personally, I am going to make sure that I read it, learn it, digest it, and obey it.

When we read it, learn it, digest it, and obey it, we will live it and the Word will live in us!

The Bible is the best resource for the believers of God.

There are very basic principles to live by and apply to our daily lives.

There are many promises to claim as a believer in Christ.

God's Word helps comfort and heal our broken hearts.

God's Word is a rich resource which gives us guidance, direction, correction, and encouragement.

"Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the Words of knowledge." Proverbs 23:12

What is your attitude towards the Word of God?

The Word of God is His personal revelation of Himself.

Do you believe the Bible to be the inherent, infallible Word of God?

How much time do you spend it it?

Do you take His Word lightly?

A reverence of the Word of God is to believe it, obey it, and let it transform your life.

Take a moment and ask yourself how you approach God's Word?

Better yet, take a moment and ask God how you approach His Word for He shall reveal it to you if you truly want to know.

God will reveal all.

We need to let the grace of God touch our hearts.

Do you desire to live a life that glorifies Him?

"Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say on the Lord." Psalm 27:14

"But seek ye first thekingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

America Where Are Your Roots?

America where are your roots?

This is s reprint, but is worth reading again.

Monday, July 03, 2006 America - Where are your roots?

America - Land of the free - Home of the brave!

America- Where we were grounded and founded on God's Word.

America - What has happened to your values?

Has the values that we have grown up on gone out with the dish water?

America where all come to live because of the freedoms that we have.

America was attacked on 9/11 because we have gotten away from God.

America needs to turn from her wicked ways and turn back to God!

America - God will heal our land when we turn back to Him.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

America - God is calling you back.

America we must pray together.

America even in the midst of our confusion we can find hope.

Prayer can change things.

The question is how bad do you want things changed?

America we must take a stand for that which is ours.

Our country was founded on God - but today we have gotten so far away from God it is no laughing matter any more.

Children are not allowed to say the pledge.

People are afraid of stepping on another religion's toes.

America is in fear, and fear is not of God!

People are married to the same sex- God intended it to be Adam and Eve; not Adam and Steve.

You can not even let your children play in the front yard, or play with the neighborhood kids as we did without worry.

Road rage on the rise.

Sex, drug and violence on the rise.

All one hears in the news is bad things, there is never anything good.

America what has happened to your values?

What happened to the family that prays together?

What happened to praying for those in charge?

We have gotten to busy with other priorities and God is the last priority.

God should be our first priority.

As we put God first, He will change our circumstance.

We need God more than ever before.

It is not time to play games anymore, but to get serious.

We are on the way to self destruction if we do not turn back to the One whom created us.

We need to praise and give Him the glory.

God has set us a part uniquely, as everyone wants the freedom that we have.

If we do not turn back to God who is to say that we will stay free?

I know that as I write what is on my heart today, that it might offend someone, I take that chance.

If this offends you, maybe then you need to check your spirit to see if you are right with God.

I know in whom I believe and where He has brought me from.

I can but look at the anniversary of our great nation tomorrow and say thank you God for allowing me to be apart.

Each one of us are here right now as that is what God has ordained for our life.

We are here in the now to take care of what He has for us to take care.

Our whole lives were planned before the foundation of the earth.

"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." Ephesians 1:4

Prayer can change things, we must not get weary in well doing.

God is love!

God is all things.

God created all things!

We are and we created to worship Him.

We must put our trust in Him.

"I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliver; my God, my strength in whom will I trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the name if the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies." Psalm 18:1-3

Everything that we have and are comes from God.

Why not give honor to whom honor is due?

Do you love Him?

He loves You!

America - Won't you come back to God?

America - We need God!
