The heart of Worship

"He is thy praise, and He is thy God," Deuteronomy 10:21a

The heart of worship is surrender.

Can we say as Mary did.."I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever He wants." Luke 1:38 NLT

There is nothing more powerful than a totally surrendered life in the hands of God.

Surrender is best demonstrated in obedience and trust.

Everyone is surrendered to something or someone.

If you have not surrendered to God then what?

Have you surrendered to opinions, expectations of others, money, resentment, fear, pride, ego, lusts?

We were created to worship Him.

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things and for Thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11

When we are not worshipping Him, we are worshipping idols.

An idol is anything that takes you continually away from God.

We might be free in a sense what we surrender to, but not free from the consequences of that choice.

Do we make it our goal to please Him?

"Wherefore we labour that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him." 2 Corinthians 5:9

One cannot fulfill God's purpose in their life if it is filled with self will, pride or personal ambition.

How many times we as Jesus to sit in the drivers seat, yet we don't take our hands off the wheel.

We need to let go and let God have control.

Control of the circumstance, complete control of of life, of everything we say and do.

Nothing under His control is or can ever be outta control.

"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God." 2 Corinthians 3:5
