Are you a wheat or a tare in God's soil?

What type of soil are you?

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf shall not wither planted a garden; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
Psalms 1:2-3

Have you ever planted a garden?

What about picking out flowers to plant or replacing grass?

Generally when we plant or replace things outside we carefully select what we are going to put into the ground. After a bit of love and tender care whatever we have planted will begin to flourish. but one thing that most of us didn't count on or plan was the weeds that come around our flowers or in our grass. So if we don't buy or plant weeds, where do they come from?

Did you know that we don't always realize what we plant into the soil of our soul, but we do bear the consequences for bad choices.

Our soil is the soul. There are four different types of soil that represent each and every person type. There are  hard rock people who represent God's Word by hearing it, but refuse to believe it. These are just not atheist. There are stony ground people who believe God's Word, but just never get around to doing anything about it. These are the ones who enjoy listening to the sermons, but is not life changing. These are the luke warm Christians or people Paul was talking about. Then there are thistle patch people who hear God's Word and it takes root. They are excited at first and everything is cool, but then the pressures of this world over take them. God's Word is choked out by worry, riches, responsibility, and pleasures, they are overcome by materialism. Lastly there the good soil people. These are the ones who hear the Word and it changes their life and priorities. Their roots run deep, and they weather life's storms because of their deep relationship with Christ.

All of us sin and will continue to have life's problems but the people of good soil, they have an Eternal security and a peace that transcends all understanding.

"The secret of living is fruit bearing. The secret of fruit bearing is abiding in Christ. The secret to abiding is obeying. The secret to obeying is loving. The secret to loving is knowing. Fruit bearing is not an activity but a result." - Don Anderson-

The secret to all these things is having your roots buried deep within God, so that one can weather all of life's storms.
Sometimes their are undesirable self propagating  tendencies that come and try to take over the garden of our soul. Our soul is the soil of the garden, it is where the Spirit is hard at work while it is fertilized and getting it ready.

The Father plants in it the seed, which then cometh forth bringing the surrender of our life.

"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:" John 6:44a

After the plant is planted, it will take root, it is more perennial, lasting indefinitely, it is eternal. The Spirit continues to fertilize in expectation of the fruit.

The Salvation plant is not outta danger from weeds once it has take root, but the yield of fruit and blooms can be. Love grows well, as does joy, but they need special fertilizer to maintain their growth. Peace is at the base of all plants. Kindness, goodness and mercy, and gentleness rest or thrive next to love. Faithfulness when fed right has a steady growth, but patience is challenged with weeds of restlessness, self control and individual and personal rights.

These weeds most often must be pulled, but are often very misleading and are seen as lovely in today society. in the early stages, weeds will mimic the true plant. It is not until they bloom or produce fruit that they can be distinguished.

In Matthew 13:24-29 Jesus tells of the Planter (referring to the Father), the good seed, bad seed and the field(which is the world). The Planter scatters the wheat and the enemy scatters the tares. As the wheat begins to grow, the weeds do also. The workers seemed concerned , but the Planter say that when the what matures, you will be able to recognize it from the weeds and safely separate the two.

The bearded darnell is a weed that grows or acts in stealth mode, it looks identical to the wheat - well that is until they are both ripe. The fruit of the wheat is heavier than the bearded darnell. the bearded darnell stands stiff necked as the wheat bows to the Father. Seems to me the wheat is deeply rooted. So it would be to say that if it does not bow before the Father it is a weed that has crept in.

The sin nature we all inherited allows the enemy to plant the weeds in the garden of our soul. When we surrender our life to Christ each and every day, He will plant the fruit of the Spirit in us and dig up the weeds.

Some of us nourish the weeds in the garden of our soul. In the early stages the weeds are passed off as good. but, when the fruit doesn't bow to the will of the Father, then the deception is over. The healthy fruit of patience will bow, but restlessness , self control or personal right will never bow as they will be stiff necked!

God's mighty hand will be sure, quick, skillful and powerful trowel  of our lives, separating the fruit from the weeds, the tares from the wheat. At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow.

Next time you go by flowers in bloom, and you see their bodies arch to the ground, I pray that it will be a powerful reminder to you!

"As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field so he flourisheth" Psalm 103:15

"Bless the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul."  Psalm 103:22

He knows our every moment!

"Many, O Lord my God, are Thy wonderful works which Thou hast done, and Thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto Thee; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered." Psalm 40:5

Have ya ever sat and thought about catching your breath? Is there actually a way to catch our breath? Some could say it is like trying to hold now from becoming then, the rhythm of our own breathing is a marker of time. Each breath is anticipated in the future, found in the now, and finished in the past, its kinda like our internal clock ya could say.

Plants and animals are also governed by internal clocks. Leaves of leguminous plants lay in one position during the day only to lay a different way at night. Did you know that sea anemones expand and contract to the rhythm of the tides, bees will go out and pollinate flowers at a fixed time, kinda like the way that humans can estimate time with out the help of clocks.

The world has a universal form of measurement, as there is 24 hours in a day, which is broken into 60 hour minutes, and that breaks down to 86,400 seconds in a day. These specifics give us the basis for the calendar which is in Chronos time. Timers, watches, clocks and other time devises also fall into the category. We can say that this linear definition that Alpha & Omega, the beginning and the end who is The Eternal now, who was and is and is too come.

We can break this down into smaller pieces. We can live in the moment with God who is also known as the I Am.

It still is frustrating trying to catch ones breath, when we think we have captured our breath, we are off to pursue another. We will always be between breaths in Chronos time.

How can He be, Was, and Is, and Is to come in Chronos time? Well that as an easy question, it is because He is beyond our time dimension.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord." Isaiah 55:8

The Eternal One measures time is Kairos. the Greek word means the exact time appointed to something. In Kairos it as if time is completely unbound, yet also stopped. Only in Kairos can He be One, yet Three. Only in His time can free will and predestination exist simultaneously. Only in His time can He know me before I am.

The distinction between Chronos and Kairos could be easiest described as a single straight line going forward where its end is known only in God's mind. On that single line is past events, present events, and future events. It is linear, which is a measurement in one dimension only which describes Chronos time. on another spectrum there are lines, arcs, and circles going in every and all different directions. These lines, curves and arcs contains both here and now, now and then, here and there; kinda like the way we colored as a child before we knew knew about staying in the lines. Its a wonderful jumble of marks. Its the place that is both near and far in God. We are becoming in Chronos, and complete in Kairos.

When God said, "let there be light" the sky was filled with hundred million trillion stars to sustain life in our universe. When God said, "let there be light" it was on the first day of History, and at the same time but only in Kairos time, He has said it today as well.

In kairos today, He says________(ur name here) in our image, and "come unto me," and "dont be anxious."

"Every day will have no more trouble than you can bear; and everyday will have mercies sufficient for the day's stress."  Lamentations 3:22-23 NASB

While yet we are between breaths in Chronos, in Kairos He just breathed the first and everlasting breath into my being on the first day of History, the beginning of time.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways; and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9
