Do You possess self control?

Do you possess the quality of self-control?

Self-control or self-discipline ought to be an area in our lives that we strive to better.

As one of the fruits of the Spirit, however, self-control is not a simple quality that we can somehow manufacture on our own.

It is a sign of God's presence in our lives.
"Better a patient person than a warrior, those with self-control than those who take a city."
Proverbs 16:32NIV

"Moderation is better than muscle, self control is better than political power." Proverbs 16:32 Message

"Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control." Proverbs 25:28NIV
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires." Galatians 5:22-24NIV
"For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good." Titus 2:11-14 NIV

"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 1:3-8 NIV
