Daily Walk with the Holy Spirit

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

"Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in the way in which I command you, that it may be well with you." Jeremiah 7:23

We can come to that place where we know His voice n recognize it regardless of all the other stuff that is also trying to compete for our attention.

Do you know the Father's voice?

When the Master speaks are you motivated to follow?

Listening to God is essential, as well as obeying.

How well do we listen to our Pastor?

Are we listening to him or what God is trying to tell us through him?

There is a difference.

Let me put it another way...

Do you anticipate the Father to speak through the Pastor or do you just listen to the Pastor?

We will always receive something from their messages whether insight, direction or inspiration for our life.

What we receive will always be right on time.

We will always hear exactly what is needed, because we are focused on Him, and what He is trying to communicate us.

God is always teaching me something, and He is always demonstrating His love and wisdom through every little detail of my life, even the ones in which I think are petty.

Each day there is an expectancy of what God is going to say, or how He is going to reveal Himself.

Our job is to intentionally apply what He says no matter what we think or feel or are facing.

He wants us to become totally dependent upon His instruction,  and His Word!

That's it in a nutshell.

Life a bed of Roses?

God does not have a bed or roses, or blanket our path.

He does not promise us An easy effortless life.

Even when our life seems outta control, God is working His plan out for our lives.

He "doeth great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number." Job 5:9

His Word reminds us to be alert and open to God's unusual ways of helping and working on our behalf.

God helps and guides us in unexpected ways sometimes.

Are we paying attention?

Do we fail to recognize God working in our lives?

Do we have rigid expectations?

Are we resistant to change?

Are we being petty about what we going through?

He does promise us strength to get through those tests and trials, and He does promise us that He will go with us all the way, for He will never leave or forsake us.

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him." Psalm 28:7

 How awesome is that?

How fast we Forget the simple truths.

"He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake." Psalm 23:3

"A man is what He thinks about all day long." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

How many of us just get so wrapped up in stuff?

"...,and He said to them If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it." Mark 8:34-35

Did you know that in Biblical roman time, criminals had to carry their own cross to the place of execution?

Jesus uses the illustration of the Cross to for ultimate submission.

Just as a criminal was signifying submission to rome s power, we are doing the same but we are signifying we are giving Jesus all power in our life.

We are to follow Him moment by precious moment, even when work becomes too difficult or the future outlook becomes bleak.

Can we truly compare our dead dull life to that which we are going to gain in Christ by dying out to self and submitting our all to Him?

I don't thinks so.

Jesus wants us to follow Him, and to stop trying to control our own destiny, and self satisfaction, He wants to direct our lives.

How many of us truly even give Him the opportunity?

How many of us give Him the reigns but when the path gets a lil shaky, take the reigns back?

He wants our submission.

If we are dead to self, then it won't matter what people say or do, cause the Holy Spirit is leading you.

After having done all you can do, just stand on His Word! Ephesians 6:13

Is He our All in all?

Is He Saviour, Sanctifier, Healer, and unchanging friend?

Has He captured your heart?

Do we love Him because what He has done for us?

Do we love Him for what he now means to us?

We should love Him not because of theses things, but because of what He is in Himself!

Pure love is the greatest gift in which the human heart is capable of.

Christ is the most Superior or Supreme object upon which love can and should be spent. In Him are infiniteness of perfect moral excellence and beauty.

He meets our every need and He satisfies indeed!
"For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment." Luke 1:37

"Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down ( relax My hold on you)! [ Assuredly not!]" Hebrews 13:5

"For He, has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee."  Hebrews 13:5b KJV

Let me tell you this You must trust in God, for He will will take care of You if you do. It is a marriage. If there is no trust You have nothing.

Are we teachable?

"Teach me Thy way O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name." Psalm 86:11

Do you trust God's Holy Word and use it as an absolutely necessary, essential tool to guide your steps? Or do you go a different route? God's Word is or should be your road map. The Bible is the ultimate guide for life! His wisdom and truth never fails!

When bad news comes, or difficulties arise, how do you deal with them. One thing which can be very helpful is to turn to Scripture. It is remarkable how much guidance, encouragement and comfort can be found in the words of Scripture. Scripture is life-giving. It is alive and active!

"For the Word of God is quick, and poweful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  Hebrews 4:12

"The word of God, which is at work in you who believe." 1 Thessalonians 2:13.

"Anything that comes to us from the God of the Word will deepen our love for the Word of God." A.W. Tozer

A pessimist see the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty- which are you?

Thank you, God, that when things get to be too much for me, when I am feeling defeated, I know I  can come to you and you will be our refuge. You will give us shelter and protection. Thank you that you are our strength. I can't deal with this own strength, but You. We have your incomparably great power (Ephesians 1:19) in us. We can be strong in you and in your mighty power (Ephesians 6:10). We can do all things through you who strengthen us (Philippians 4:13). Thank you, Lord, that you are an ever-present help in trouble. You are always there when we need you. You don't always take the trouble away, but you help us in it. You make it possible for us to handle it.!You are with us even in the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). Therefore we will not fear. We will not fear! Whatever happens, whatever we have to face, we will not fear! You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We will not fear!"

"Teach me. O Lord, the way of Thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end." Psalm 119:33

Do we trust Him?

I've learned that He calls us to do some things that seem/or are difficult.

All He wants is obedience.

Do we truly believe that He is able to help us through each n every circumstance?

If we do, then why do we still question Him?

I believe the Father keep His Word, His promises, so why do we doubt?

Human nature.

Our intimacy with God must be First priority in our life.

It is when lose our view of who He truly is that we will find ourself doubting and wavering.

Our view of God is in direct proportion to what we believe about Him.

Yes, we all have ares of where we must grow in our understanding of Him.

I believe that it is of the utmost important thing in our life that we settle in our heart who we believe God is.

Do we really trust God?

Are we truly confident that He has the ability to help me?

We must know without a shadow of a doubt that we can place all our hope in Him.

He is worthy of our trust, loves us unconditionally and wants to shoe us life at its very best.

Let us honor Him for He is the Great I Am! Exodus 33:13

"I will be who I have always been." God hasn't changed from eternity.

How deep are your roots?

"They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." Jeremiah 17:8 NLT

Prayer is rooted in a personal relationship with God.

Let your roots grow down deep into Him, and let your life be built upon the only solid foundation-Him!!

"Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." Colossians 2:7 NLT

Having that relationship through prayer with Him strengthens and deepens our intimacy with Him.

Consistent, deliberate time alone with God in prayer is not an option. Nothing should take priority over it! There is no way to have a real n meaningful relationship with God without it.

The One who has saved you. Can and will teach you how to relate to Him. He will instruct us how to walk step by step in Him.

"He that hath a clean hands and a pure heart; who hath not lift up his soul to vanity, nor sworn decietfully. He shall recieve the blessings from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation."Psalms 24:4-5

Weeds spring up over night, but great people, like mighty oaks, are planted, cared for, and grow slowly.

Lord, help us to draw closer into an intimate relationship with You. Teach us how to connect with You in deeper more meaningful ways like never before. Help us to be open, yielded and available for whatever You desire to do in and through us. Thank You for revealing Your ways.

Digital idolatry?

How many times a day do we update your facebook status, check your email, or go to the internet to find an answer to a question?

Do we feel have to Stay connected through texts and phone calls?

Do we share the same compassion for staying connected with and relying on God?

Anything done in excess could signal a problem.

Maybe one should try unplugging electronics for a few days and see what it reveals about your heart.

"They served their idols, which become a snare to them." Psalm 106:36

Do You spend time with God?

How much time do we really n truly give to God out of our day?

The time that we give God does He have our undivided attention?

Do you make your requests known to God, then just go on about ur business?

He wants us to give back to Him that love He first gave to us.

Its like two people who truly fall head over heels in love.

They make time to interact and demonstrate to each other how much they care.

They just don't avoid each other with meaningless activities.

So, how come most of us don't treat the Lord the same way?

Why don't we rush to see Him?

Why don't we want to talk to Him and tell Him how grateful we are for His wonderful care and provision?

He wants us to choose Him above the cares and activities of this world, and acknowledge Him as the Lord of our life.

Personally, I believe it is a test each day to see where our heart is.

Is it adoration for God or another purpose.

We would do well to test our motives each time we come before Him.

Here are a few questions that come to mind...

Do we pray to convince others of our godliness?

Do we tell others about our quiet times to impress them?

Are we trying to convince God to do things our way?

Do we tell Him things need to be done this way?

Is our relationship with Him more important that the things He provides?

Our are prayers repetitive, routine, or about things we want then hurry on our way?

Do we truly go to His throne to love on Him and know more about Him?

Are we genuinely interested in how He wants us to live?

We don't need to impress God, He already loves us the way we are.

As our relationship with Him grows, so will our love and the way in which we do things.

He wants us to open our hearts so that He can come in.

Jesus is the perfect example, our teacher, the One in whom we can count on.

"He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the Word of His power." Hebrews 11:3

What an amazing God!

What a mighty and outstanding God we serve!

We can not even grasp how immense, how magnificent, powerful, n perfect is our Lord God.

We cannot help but see the wisdom, beauty, majesty of the Father in every part of His creation.

"O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!...When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that You thought of Him, and the son of man that You care from Him?" Psalm 8:1,3-4

God is patiently demonstrating His love and wisdom to us through every event n detail of our daily life.

Are you waiting?

How long are we willing to wait on God?

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say on the Lord." Psalm 27:14

God has His own timing and works on behalf of those who wait for Him.

We should never try n take matter into our own hands. He wants us to wait on Him. When His plans are revealed they r breathtaking n powerful.

"For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him." Isaiah 64:4 Nasb

Have ya ever been in a place that you were desperate to hear from God?

Has there been a trial, temptation, or a challenge got you beside yourself?

I think we all have been there at least once.

We must not give up, no matter how long we have been seeking His direction.

"Ask, and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8 NIV

So if this be true why do we let our circumstances dishearten us?

Do we truly not believe in and trust the promises of God?

It is through His Love that makes things possible without a shadow of a doubt.

When the Lord calls us to a task, He will help us accomplish it regardless of what anyone says or thinks.

The Father will move heaven n earth to show us His will n love in our life.

Any waiting that we experience is for us, to strengthen us to keep our eyes on Him and to prepare us for the answer.

When we feel inadequate and doubtful we can be sure that the Lord knows the plans He ordained for our life, all we need to do is get on our knees and ask the Father to show us what to do.

"You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy." Psalm 16:11

Our Heart, is His dwelling place

Our heart, His dwelling place.

"Watch over Your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." Proverbs 4:23 NASB

Lately I have encountered so many negative people that I've really had to guard my heart and thoughts continually.

The more we are around negative people, the more, the negativity rubs off on ya.

If we are to serve God whole heartedly we must guard our heart against such intrusions.

The heart is the center of our beings, sensitivity, and our emotions.

The Heart is also the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.

Does He have enough room or any room in your heart?

Do we choose the right desires that keep us on the right path?

Our our eyes fixed on the ultimate prize, that goal which only can be found in Him?

Ya know keeping on praise n worship music is good so that we don't get side tracked.

There is nothing else that can bring us into His presence and can purify those negative thoughts that have found their way inside.

I can't tell you how many times that God has spoken to me through Praise n Worship music.

Scripture tell us that the glory of God filled the temple when the singers n musicians praised God.

There is no difference from then till now.

It is impossible to be negative or have them negative thoughts if we truly enter in.

We are God's temple, what comes out of our mouths truly reveal who or what resides in our hearts.

"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart,..." Matthew 15:18

Did ya know?

We as Christians already have to Holy Spirit, He came to indwell in us when He converted us.

So why do we struggle?

Why do we think we need to beg n plead for it?

Why do toss n turn with sleepless nights, struggling with why we don't have it?

Hmmm, maybe we still have God in our own lil man made box?

Maybe we just need to relax a lil, no maybe a whole lot!

Do we allow Him to transform our life? If not, why not?

We shall never b the same as we let Him transform our life.

Transformation begins on the inside.

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your rememberance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26

"But ye shall recieve power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnessess unto Me in both in Jerusalem, and in  judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

There are depths of God that we have not even began to tap into, as only His Spirit can open our hearts and minds to those spiritual dimensions which we never knew existed, along with this comes being truly transformed.

"But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

Deep Divine wisdom Only comes from God!

"But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in Him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but by the Spirit of God. Now we have recieved, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God." 1 Cor. 2:10-12

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been His counselor? or who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto Him again? For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are All things: to whom be glory for ever! AmenRomans 11:33-36

What is holding you back?

The Spirit of God wishes to do more within us than what we presently let Him do.

The Holy Spirit is our comforting helper, even through the barrier of the unknown.

He is ther truth teacher, the Father revealer, the precious gift giver, the hurt healer, scar remover.

He is the inextinguishable flame of God!

He alone is God!

For us to remain at distance from Him is down right wong, no it is tragic.

We are to move closely to the One who has been sent alongside to help.

The same power that filled the believers in the first century can still fill us in the twenty first century. That same dynamic.

 Power, boldness, determination, and perseverance.

We need to get reacquainted, renewed with the One who lives with in us!

Why haven't we let Him transform us?

What is holding us back for being obedient?

"For Thou art great, and doest wonderous things: Thou art God alone. Teach me Thy way, O Lord, I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name. I will praise Thee, O lord, my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Thy name forever more."  Psalms 86:10-12
