Do we restore or belittle?

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:1-10

Today is unique! It has never occurred today n will never b repeated. At midnight the day will end quietly and suddenly, totally and forever.

What happens during the hours in between?

They are opportunities with eternal possibilities!

They are opportunities to worship the True n Living God, n to share that Love He gave us with someone else.

Do we live each day like it might be our last day here on earth?

Do we enjoy each moment as it could be our last?

Is He our first and most important priority?

Who can measure the lasting impact of the Word of God!

Are you jealous?

O, beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock the meat it feeds on.”
― William Shakespeare, Othello

For some reason we have this ingrained attitude that we are entitled to things.

Often times we feel things should come easier and faster to us. Then if things don't happen when we think they should, we inevitably run into someone who already has what we want.

All of a sudden, we feel this surge of ugly, green emotion called jealousy.

Jealousy typically grows out of insecurity, fear, deception, or covetousness.

Personal insecurity can breed a host of jealous strife. Often times, we base our security on the opinion, affirmation, and acceptance of other people.

When we feel rejected or unloved we become dangerously insecure leading us to perceive the strengths of other people as threats to our own well being.

It is so easy to look at other people and wish we had what they have, and so many times it doesn't stop there.
We start berating ourselves for not having what they have. Then we begin to believe negative junk ourselves.

The next thing we know, we've developed insecurities in our relationships.

You can only be jealous of someone who has something you think you ought to have yourself.

Isn't it kind of silly to think that tearing someone else down builds you up?

Stop comparing yourself to other people.

You were created as a very unique and special person, God had a plan for you long before you took your first breath you're special.

What God has in mind for you isn't the same as for someone else.

We don't have to feel bad that we don't have all the qualities, features, money, or anything else that someone else has. Your journey is just that its yours, no one else's!

God has given each of us many wonderful gifts that many other people don't have, That is why we need to stir up that gift within us, n use them for Him. 2 Tim.2:15

Breaking free from jealousy starts with our thoughts.

When we change the way we think, it will change the way we feel and act.

"Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other." Gal. 5:26

"So that, just as it is written, let Him who boast, boast in the Lord." 1 Cor.1:31 Nasb

To get through insecurity we must turn to God through His Word to tell us once again of His unfailing love and acceptance. Completing this task will take active engagement in the battle through research, reflection, and prayer.

"But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me." Psalm 13:5-6

"Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love." Psalm 48:9

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."  Psalm 143:8

Deception can also play a role in cultivating jealousy in your heart.

You may perceive a threat that in reality does not exist. Your perception of life is distorted due to lies you believe about others and yourself.

"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32). Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."  Psalm 25:4-5

Covetousness is a deep desire to obtain a possession of another person. This leads to aggressive jealousy that is often spoken against in the Bible
"Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load." Galatians 6:4-5

"This is what the Lord says...your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea." Isaiah 48:17-18

"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."  Isaiah 46:4

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?" Matthew 6:25

Lew's put into practice Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God ...this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is...his good, pleasing and perfect will."

With God's help, you can overcome this destructive emotion.
